I decided that now that the kittens have their litter box skills perfected, it was safe to get out this tunnel/bed toy that Teresa gave us recently.
They’ve had access to it for a few days, and so far they like it quite a bit. I haven’t found anyone sleeping in it yet (one day I expect to find them ALL sleeping in it), but they play in and on it, and Kirk loves to sit on the top and smack at the other kittens as they come out. They also like to drag toys inside and play with them there. Two thumbs up!
I also got out this very cool mouse cave that someone sent us, and Troi IMMEDIATELY climbed in and took a nap.
Later, Troi and Janeway took a nap in the cave on the couch. I think those girls like cave-type beds!
Kirk is having VERY serious thoughts.
Uhura is off for her spay today. She’ll spend the night at the vet, and then I’ll pick her up and bring her back here tomorrow. I’ll be glad to have this done and over with (and I’m sure she will, too!) (She is available for adoption; if you’re interested, you can email Forgotten Felines at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire. We’re in Huntsville, Alabama and out of area adoptions are allowed, but adopters must come here to complete the adoption.)

Khal needs a brushing (luckily he loves to be brushed!)

It’s Toesday, so please admire Spock’s speckled beans.

2 minutes of the kittens eating. They are very loud and smacky, so if that sort of thing annoys you, you are excused. (Also, me reaching in with the spoon to scoop the canned food into a pile for each kitten for some reason makes me think of the episode of Friends with the cheesecake when Joey walks up, sees Rachel and Chandler eating the cheesecake on the ground, pulls a fork out of his pocket, and says “Alright, what are we having?”)
Just a reminder that (1) Uhura is going for her spay surgery (yay!) and (2) she is available for adoption; email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org
(Unless the vet’s office has changed things up, I’ll drop her off tomorrow morning and pick her up Thursday morning to bring her back here. The kittens are eating on their own and will be fine. She will continue to produce milk as long as the kittens nurse, and most mother cats let their kittens nurse as long as they’re all with us.)
Side note: We think she’s about 3 years old; she’s very sweet and friendly; we are located in Huntsville, Alabama and out of area adoptions are allowed, but the adopter must come here to complete the adoption. Email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to get the ball rolling if you’re interested in adopting her.

Wherein Kes confirms that she’s Da BAYbee (sometimes there are multiple Da BAYbees in a litter; Troi is the other one), is absolutey adorable, and responds to Spock using her as a pillow by kicking his butt. She’s a well-rounded individual, that Kes.

Troi and Kirk have another tussle – and Kes is playing under the bed, so they join her. (I love how there are a bunch of toys under the bed with them at the end.)
Good night innernets. (Janeway & Troi)
