In the photo of Spock monkey walking, it looks like you can see some stripes in the fur.
He does have stripes! (Ninja stripes, I call ’em, because you can’t see them most of the time and then in the right light, there they are.) I thought I had a picture that really shows them off, but apparently I don’t. I’ll see if I can get one next time it’s bright and sunny in the foster room.

Thank you!!! for the navigation at the very bottom of your pages. I didn’t realize how much I relied on just clicking the (home) link at the very bottom in the old version. Does this new theme support a dark mode plug-in? This new version looks great BTW.
If I can remember the code that Fred added (to make the links), I’ll add a “home” link in the center of the before & after links, because I think that would be useful. (Edited to add: Or I guess not. I thought it would be a simple thing to add, but apparently not and I’m not that talented.) (Side note: if you click on the banner at the top, it will take you to the front page of the blog, which is something I use a lot.)
I’ll see if I can find a dark mode plug-in that will work. If it shows up, I was successful. If it doesn’t, I either was unsuccessful, or haven’t gotten around to it yet. 🙂

I have a silly question. Do you turn the lights off at night when you say goodnight to the fosters?
I leave a light on in the closet (where the litter boxes are) all night, and then turn it off in the morning. That keeps the room itself mostly dark, but if I peek in on my way to bed, I can see what’s going on.

Spock checks to see if the milk bar is open…
Kirk and Janeway are either going to take a nap or go racing wildly through the room; your guess is as good as mine.
Fooled us! Kirk opted for a nap with Troi in the brass bed.
Uhura says “Shhh… They’ll never know I’m here!”
Troi’s keeping an eye on me (and behind her, Spock looks like he’s ready to leap on her.)
Kirk at the milk bar. Uhura is still letting (even encouraging) them to nurse, but she’s not letting them nurse for nearly as long before she gets up and walks away.
Troi and Janeway on the bed, Kes in the Toastycat bed.

Charlie and Khal, hanging out on the deck (which desperately needs to be pressure washed. Better get on it, Charlie!)

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
Uhura’s face is very much “Just wanted a nap and ALONG CAME KITTENS.” Janeway and Troi at the milk bar, Kirk over there to the left getting ready to snooze, and Spock… doing whatever Spock’s doing. He likes to sleep in the MOST interesting positions.
“Ooh,” says Janeway. “I see Churu!”

Throw Back Thursday: 3 years ago, we fostered the Mewsketeers who included the silver and white tabby named Aramis who’s skitterbugging at the orange tabby (Athos). Aramis became a permanent resident and we renamed him Charlie. He doesn’t bounce around nearly as much these days; every once in a while he’ll arch up and jump sideways, but it always happens too fast for me to catch it on video.) Also in this video: black and white kitty Porthos, brown and white tabby Constance, and brown tabby Rochefort. And in the distance, black kitten d’Artagnan.
Throw Back Thursday: the picture of the kittens’ eyes earlier this week made me think of this foster. That’s Kennebec, who we fostered in the summer of 2012 (he was from the ‘Taters litter; everyone was named after a type of potato). When he was adopted at 3 months old, his eyes were very cool: mostly blue-green with an amber center. When he was returned 6 months later (due to either a divorce or a move, I don’t remember which), they were this gorgeous, striking deep amber. (He was adopted again about a month after he was returned. This time the adoption stuck, though I’ve never gotten an update on him.)

Throw Back Thursday: From early 2020, when we were fostering Isabella and her kittens (Los Mewchachos), brothers Diego (the floofy one) and Javier were wearing their crazypants.
Troi is all “I’ve got it! I’ve got it!” Spoiler: she didn’t get it.
Good night innernets. (Spock and his beans… and Uhura’s feet, and a bit of Kirk’s floof.)
