In case you missed it on social media, Uhura was adopted and went home on Saturday.
I know this seems sudden to y’all, since I didn’t mention it in advance. The adopters filled out the application last week, and I didn’t get word ’til Thursday afternoon that it was approved; I don’t like to announce that there’s an adoption pending ’til I know for sure that it’s been approved, so there was no warning for y’all. Sorry about that – but she’s been available for adoption for a couple of weeks now, so it was really just a matter of time.
She’s been pretty frustrated by the kittens recently so I’m glad she’ll have some time to relax, chill out, and be the baby herself.
As far as the kittens? They spent the weekend racing around like usual, piling up to nap, and giving me the Eyes of Hope whenever I step foot near the desk they’ve clearly come to think of as Churu Central. In other words: business as usual.

For those who are interested, the kittens are now 10 weeks old, which means that Forgotten Felines is accepting applications for them. They’re going to be spayed/neutered on October 11th and could start heading home as early as that weekend. If you’ve been waiting to apply to adopt one, two or all five of them (a girl can hope!), email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org (There are no bonded pairs in this litter – they’re all buddies with each other and will play/snuggle with whoever happens to be around.)

Today’s post includes the rest of the pictures I took of Uhura while she was here with us.
“Don’t you tell those kittens where I am.”
I hoped she’d make the jump from the scratcher she was on to the next one, but she ultimately opted to jump down to the floor instead.
Yes, all 5 kittens are at the milk bar, and she’s giving me the eyes of “I was just tryin’ to nap here, lady.”
I don’t think I mentioned that they’ve had the run of the upstairs since about the middle of last week.
“Can’t a mama just take a nap?” she wondered.
Watching Troi trying to climb the fan.
I put Uhura in the dining room while waiting for the adopters to show up, and Newt was like “What is going ON?!” He likes to hang out under the table in the dining room.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) this weekend.
After the kittens have had their Churu, Janeway likes to make sure I don’t have any Churu on my fingers. She’s so helpful.
When it comes to Churu, Kes is maybe not the neatest eater (but that’s okay, her siblings fight over who gets to help her clean up.)

While mama Uhura snoozes on the cat tree, the kittens race around like the crazy things they are.
Kirk has excellent balance, if you were curious.

While Uhura relaxes on the collapsed cube, Spock shows off his crazy moves. Kirk and Troi and Janeway eventually get involved, but really – it’s mostly Spock skitterbugging and hopping and acting like a crazy boy.

Mama Uhura would like some quiet time… Shhh, don’t tell the kittens where she is!
Good night innernets. (Janeway)
Hooray, hooray, Uhura was adopted and went home today! She’s on her way home right now to the Nashville (Tennessee) area, where she will reign supreme as the only animal in her new home. (They do plan to rename her, are thinking about “Toast” as a new name, but hadn’t completely decided yet.) Happy life, sweet girl! 🎉❤️❤️❤️
NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS: Read below, and email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire!
1. Forgotten Felines of Huntsville gives priority to those adopting two kittens together. If you are not interested in adopting two kittens, there MUST be a young cat in residence. (If you are looking for a single cat, Forgotten Felines has some adults who would do wonderfully in a single-cat household and would happily hook you up.) There are no bonded pairs in this litter – they’ll all play/snuggle with whoever’s closest.
2. They are scheduled for their spay/neuter surgeries on October 11th, and would be able to go home beginning a few days later.
3. The kitten(s) must be picked up in person in Huntsville, Alabama. Forgotten Felines does allow out of state adoptions but does not allow the transport of kittens/cats and our Kitten Delivery Drone is not yet perfected.
4. **EMAIL** Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at INFO (at) FFHSV.ORG to inquire. Leaving a comment on any social media post, whispering “I want that kitten” to a passing stranger, or giving your friend a knowing look is not considered an inquiry. **EMAIL** INFO (at) FFHSV.ORG

BOOPing Troi (and Kes).
Rabbit rabbit rabbit. 🐰 (Troi)
From Wikipedia: “Rabbit rabbit rabbit” is a superstition found in Britain and North America wherein a person says or repeats the words “rabbit”, “rabbits” and/or “white rabbits” aloud upon waking on the first day of a month, to ensure good luck for the rest of it.
The Trekklings are 10 weeks old! They continue to thrive – no new skills this week, but they did say goodbye to mama Uhura (they do not seem to be missing her – they’re acting exactly the same as they always do) and they are now old enough that Forgotten Felines is accepting applications for them (email info@ffhsv.org to inquire). They’re scheduled for their spay/neuter surgeries on October 11th.
If you look at these kittens and think “Kirk looks like a BIG kitten and the girls look so small”, it’s because Kirk is a big, solid boy, Spock isn’t far behind, and the girls are quite a bit lighter (though they’re gaining well.)
You can see their weight chart here.
