Ouiser has such pretty, pretty eyes.
Shelby and Clairee want that feather teaser I’m waving around.
Clairee came down the stairs and paused on the landing to look judgmentally at me.
Shelby’s a blur running down the stairs to see what I’m doing.
Charlie and Drum sniff noses while Ouiser’s all “Oh look, it’s Uncle Charlie!”
Sometimes Uncle Charlie gets a little too aggressive with his sniffery.
I love the baleful look Drum is giving him here.

Perhaps as he gets older, Dewey will learn to eat his food without getting it all over his face?
“What do you WANT, lady?” (Left to right: Dewey, Louie and Huey.)
I was right next to the cage and Huey didn’t care that I was right there, it was eatin’ time and he was gonna eat.
The Ducklings are really starting to come around – I got zero hisses from them yesterday. I sat next to the cage with the door open, and reached in to pet them, and they were fine with it (they were also distracted by a toy mouse I’d put in the cage). Either this morning or tonight I’m going to go ahead and take the cage out of the bathroom so they’ll have the entire bathroom to run around in. In a couple of days, I’ll probably bring one of the small cat trees in, so they can start climbing practice. Depending on how the next several days go, I MIGHT move them to my office so they have even more room… but then again, I might not. The Magnolias really like to hang out in there and I hate to take that area away from them. (Yes, I know they have the entire house to run around in, shush.)

Oh dear, Uncle Khal’s playground has kittens all over it!
I’m pretty sure I know who Uncle Khal blames for this.

Meet the new fosters! The video is on the long side (sorry!), but the details are: they’re named Huey, Dewey and Louie (I said in the video that Huey, Dewey and Louie are the nephews of Daffy Duck, but they’re actually the nephews of Donald Duck), I’m going to call the litter the Ducklings. They are 5 1/2 weeks old, all three are boys, and were pulled from an empty building in Huntsville (literally pulled from the middle of a cinder block.) They haven’t decided if I’m worth their time (which is fair, since they likely didn’t know humans existed until a few days ago), but they’ve gotten a lot less hissy since I got them.
They’re in a cage in my bathroom for now (once they’ve finished their course of medication, I’ll let them free roam in the bathroom) and they are just. So. CUTE.
Former fosters! Flynn (left; formerly Kohle when we fostered him in 2012) and Hook (formerly Puff when we fostered him in 2013) are the very best of friends all these years later. How sweet are these two? (We had snow and sleet yesterday here in North Alabama, and the temperatures are staying lowww, so it’s good these two are keeping warm! 🙂 )
(Thanks Selena!)
Line ’em up! Left to right: Louie, Huey and Dewey, our newest fosters (in case you missed the blog post this morning, or the video from a few hours ago.) They are about 5 1/2 weeks old, all 3 are boys, they were pulled from an abandoned building in Huntsville, and they do not care for me, the medication I give them (though they like the Churu part of that experience) or the baths they’ve had. They’ve gone from super hissy to only occasionally hissy, though, so I’m definitely making progress! (They are currently in a cage in my bathroom and will not be interacting with the Magnolias.)
The cat tree is full! Top: Ouiser. Middle: Drum & Clairee. Bottom (she kind of blends, but you can see her if you look closely!) – Shelby.

Nearly 2 minutes of purrrrrring kittens. ❤️
Huey is scheming to break out and break into the Churu; Louie is waiting to hear the plan.
Good night innernets. (Drum, who is the cuddliest cuddlebug who ever cuddled.)
