This time of year, on sunny mornings, the sun comes through the window and hits this corner of the room first. The kittens gravitate to the sun.
Then climbs on top of the bed to get even more sun.
(I’ve thought of putting a cat tree in that corner, but it’s right next to where the TV is mounted and I would hate for them to decide it’s a good idea to jump from the cat tree to the TV. I guess I’ll move a shorter cat tree there and see how it goes.)
Louie and Huey enjoy some afternoon sun in this window.
The sleepy trio. (This is the window the morning sun comes through. They COULD catch the sun from this cat tree, but what fun would that be? Too easy!)

Crumpet says “Oh, hi! Have you come to visit meeeeee?”
Abandons kittens for some scritchin’.
Checks out the red crate, decides she doesn’t like the location. “Too many nosy neighbors.”
Kittens, all alone while Mama gets love and attention.
A rare moment where she stayed in the cube when I came into the room (she didn’t stay there for long, though.)
Pretty much any time I go into the room Crumpet leaves the cube to greet me and get petted. This is adorable and sweet, but makes it hard to get pictures of kittens at the milk bar! (I always check before going in to be sure the kittens aren’t actively nursing so I don’t disrupt them.) I try not to handle the kittens too much, as it was stressing her out last week (I got the smack and hiss and excuse me, THAT HURTS MY FEELINGS), but I am still weighing them every other day, just to be safe (and for their 1-week weigh-in I grabbed a quick picture of each kitten). Everyone’s gaining like they should – they’re a healthy bunch!

Someone left a magnificent pile of floof right here. (Please admire Khal’s fang.)

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
The Crumbs are 1 week old (as of yesterday), and this is what they look like now. Eyes everywhere! (Except Ciabatta, who’s taking his time.)
Weight-wise, they’re doing great. They were 3 – 4 ounces at birth. The goal is to double their weight in the first week, and they all pretty much hit their marks. You can check out their weight chart right here.
(It should open automatically to their chart, but if not, there are tabs at the bottom – just click on theirs.)
The green on the wall really brings out the green in Dewey’s eyes! He is just so freakin’ cute.

I got a video of the kittens hanging out in the cube by themselves (Crumpet literally will not stay in the cube any more when I walk into the room – she runs to greet me and to be petted.) Fred got the second segment, wherein Crouton sensed the presence of a stranger and gave him the ol’ hisseroo.
I love how Dewey is marching off to do his own thing, Louie is half-splooted and gazing at himself in the mirror, and Huey is exhausted from the job of being cute.

How to tell which Duckling is which. (Side note: I would call that shape on Huey’s nose a “triangle,” I do not know why that word WOULD NOT COME TO ME.) This video is long overdue – I should have done one weeks ago, but well. Better late than never!
