Edited to add: 6:40 am: No kittens.
Those little bunny paws of hers just kill me dead.
“Lady, stop taking pictures and get to rubbing the belly.”
She likes to sniff my slippers to see where I’ve been.
So obviously she did not have her kittens yet (unless she did it last night, and of course I’ll update this post if I wake to see kittens.) I seriously need her to have her kittens so that I can sleep through the night again. I don’t ordinarily sleep with my phone next to my bed, but I am now so that I can check on her without disturbing her (I look at the Nest cameras via the app on my phone). I must have been awake every half hour Tuesday into Wednesday. I didn’t get a good night’s sleep but SHE certainly did – every single time I checked on her, she was sound asleep.

First sign of spring: Khal in the catnip pot!
(For the record, I don’t do a thing to that catnip plant to encourage it to make it through the winter. It sits out there in the rain and cold and is totally neglected by me, and somehow every year it makes it through. We’ve had this same catnip plant for probably close to 10 years and it keeps on keepin’ on. I think I got the original plant at Lowe’s, but I might have grown it from seed, I don’t remember. I do water it in the summer when it gets dry, trim it back when it gets leggy, and root some cuttings if it gets sparse, but other than that it appears to thrive on neglect.)

“Nope.” No kittens here! I have to run errands this morning that will take me out of the house for a couple of hours. SHE BETTER NOT HAVE THOSE KITTENS WHILE I’M GONE. (She’s totally going to have those kittens while I’m gone, isn’t she?)

I had to leave the house for a few hours to do errands and just KNEW Mimosa would have her kittens while I was gone. My errands ended up taking much longer than I expected, and I rushed into the house to find… Mimosa taking a nap. Ah well – at least I didn’t miss the blessed event (yet)!

Watching the belly. Look at that thing go!
Good night innernets. (Mimosa)
