Weekly Instagram/Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr Roundup.
Luc’s having a halter-induced existential crisis.
Hooray, hooray, Luc was adopted today! He’s headed home… To Maryland! (Luc’s new Mom Becky is BFFs with Mary who adopted Elfie (formerly Margeaux) and Neko (formerly Katriane); in fact, she accompanied Mary to Louisville to pick up Elfie & Neko and road trip home last month. Mary accompanied Becky to Nashville to pick up Luc. ❤️❤️❤️) Happy life, sweet boy!
Fleur regarding Earl the Skwerl (and vice versa.)
I think Gabrielle needs a hug.
Good night innernets. (Gabrielle)
The view from here. (Henri & JoJo are back for a few days over the Thanksgiving holiday; they’ll go back to PetSmart Friday before adoption hours start.)
Fleur is out of her cone now – she’s healing well and not scratching at her incision. However, I did get a couple of cute collars from Amazon that I had to try on her. I don’t see how this one would work on a kitten recovering from surgery because it’s way too big and it’s less lightweight than I thought it would be. It’s certainly cute, though! (You can find it on Amazon; search on “annaeye pet recovery collar”)
This is the other collar I got to try on Fleur just ’cause I thought it would be cute (I posted a pink collar earlier, if you haven’t seen it.) There’s no way on earth this one would work as a surgery recovery collar – it’s huge and she couldn’t even hold her head up (thus the reason Fred is holding her.) But, I mean – how cute is she? (Especially with that glare she’s giving me.) You can find it on Amazon – search for “alfie pet noah recovery collar.”
Good night innernets. (Henri & Josephine)
Happy Thanksgiving from Henri, who isn’t sure what’s going on, but he’s lookin’ fabulous in the turkey hat.
Throw Back Thanksgiving with our dear departed Tom Cullen, who sported the chicken hat (before we had a turkey hat) back in 2011, and was thrilled about it.
Awww, Throw Back Thanksgiving with Stefan in 2015. We still miss that boy every day. He was the BEST.
Throw Back Thanksgiving: Archie in 2018, who would like to know what the what is going on.
Throw Back Thursday with Alice back in 2017, who was thinking very mean thoughts at me.
Throw Back Thursday with Frankie in 2017, who didn’t seem to mind wearing that hat. Not much bothers Frankie.
Throw Back Thanksgiving with Archie (again), from 2015. He makes an awfully pretty turkey, doesn’t he?
I would like to take a moment to shout out Jan Brady (pictured), one of my fosters from 2010 who had the distinctive honor of passing the longest tapeworm (at least 12 inches) I had ever seen in my entire fostering experience. 9 years later, I still remember the total awe of seeing that in the litter box. (Jan Brady recovered beautifully and was perfectly healthy when she was adopted out.)
Jan’s sister Cindy has the honor of being the one and only kitten of the 393 cats and kittens we’ve fostered who never had a moment of diarrhea. She had coccidia, giardia and worms (the whole litter did), but her teflon digestive system provided perfect litter box leavings the entire time, and I will always remember her for that. I don’t know where she is these days, but I bet she’s still awesome.
(It’s a page about the kittens we foster. You think there’s not gonna be the occasional mention of poop? Consider yourself lucky I didn’t take a picture of said tapeworm.)
Here’s the aforementioned 2010 foster kitten Cindy Brady, she of the teflon digestive system (see earlier post for context.) That girl never gave us one moment of concern.
And since we’re Bradying it up this morning, here’s the whole Brady Bunch litter from 2010. 9 years later, I can tell you without double checking that we have Cindy over there on the left, Greg in the back behind her, Peter in the front next to her (DREAMY), Marcia next to Peter with that dab of orange on her forehead, Jan in the way back there, all “Marcia, Marcia, MARCIA!”, and Bobby in the front on the right.
Siblings Gabrielle (back) and Henri are now at PetSmart in Jones Valley – 2750 Carl T Jones Dr SE, in the Valley Bend shopping center near Target, here in Huntsville, Alabama.
Gabrielle is currently hanging out at Petsmart in Jones Valley here in Huntsville, Alabama. Adoption hours are generally Fridays 6:30 – 8:30 pm and Saturdays noon to 4 pm. If you think she might be just what your home needs, stop by during adoption hours or email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to arrange an alternate time.
Good night innernets. (Josephine)
Fleur’s keeping an eye on Uncle Frankie. (I love the way the reflection of Frankie’s back half in the window is positioned perfectly so it looks like Fleur is half gray and half orange.)
4 month old kitten Henri (left) and his chatterbug sister Gabrielle are looking for a home! They both get along well with other cats, are super playful, super-snuggly, and a lot of fun to watch. If you think Henri or Gabrielle (or both!) might be just the thing your home needs, email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire.
Doesn’t 4 month old Henri look perfect covered in holiday lights? He’s currently at Petsmart in Jones Valley here in Huntsville, Alabama.
