Given that cats have a body temperature of 7000 degrees and I have two of them pinning me to the bed, how long will it take before I’m just a pile of ashes, roughly?
Haaave you met mother-daughter duo Kristi (dilute tortie) and Katia? They came to us in February, both hugely pregnant. We expected Kristi to have her kittens first because she looked like she’d swallowed a watermelon. In a surprise twist, Katia had four kittens only a few days later, and Kristi made us wait a MONTH before she had her variety pack of 6 kittens. Well, their kittens are mostly grown, Kristi and Katia have been spayed, and we are looking for a home for these two. They adore each other and can often be seen grooming each other. They are not what we’d call lapcats, but if given enough time and space, I believe Kristi will seek out attention, and Katia will likely calm down enough to hang out in the same room as humans. We know it’s a big ask, suggesting that someone adopt two cats who just want to do their own thing, but it never hurts to ask, right? Kristi is guesstimated by the vet to be about 5 years old, and Katia around 2. They are both tested, spayed, and up to date on their vaccinations. Some of the kittens meeting Uncle Archie, who had been asleep on the bed and woke to find that while he was snoozing someone let the kittens out.
Don’t feel sorry for her: I pulled the kittens away and advised her to run while she could, and she looked at me like I was a monster and called the kittens back to her. This milk bar gig must not be too bad.

Public service announcement, y’all: Ohno (on the right) and Picabo (middle) are both adoption pending (not together – Ohno is going with her sister Tessa and Picabo with her many-toed brother Brian Boitano) and will go home next month.
