Note: We are only expecting some wind and rain from Hurricane Helene, so don’t worry about us. Those of you out there in her path, please stay safe. We’re thinking of you!

Where did you get the outdoor cat houses pictured with Khal? I’ve been looking at options for shelters for some feral cats I’m feeding, as I’m worried where they’ll find adequate shelter when bad weather arrives.
We got those from Amazon nearly 10 years ago. They’re the “Pet Squeak Arf Frame Dog House, X-Small”, but unfortunately they’ve been discontinued. This house is similar (though a little larger). Now that I think of it, though, we purchased two shelters like this one right here for Trixie and Rocco when they were spending so much time on our front porch and I highly recommend them. The top lifts up for easy cleaning, and has two entrance/exits, so they can’t get trapped.

Is Tina chatty when you aren’t in the room?
She certainly is! I can hear her in there lecturing them all the time. And in the way of kittens, they pretty much ignore her.

Is it just the lighting, or does Jeff really have Tabby stripes? A recent head shot gives the appearance of a Tabby M but in the edge-of-the-rug pic with Tina they appear to be all the way down his side.
He does have tabby stripes – he and Sydney do, actually. I’m trying to get a really good comparison shot, but for now I’ll post these.
Jeff’s stripes are more mackerel tabby stripes.
And Sydney’s are classic tabby swirls.

Does Tina have a kitten she babies or is closer to than the others? Have you ever done or considered having a top 10 videos? I think your one with the overnight Tina yeowling is probably one of those. Just hilarious.
Tina seems to baby Jeff a little more than the others, and checks on him just a bit more often. I think he might be just a few steps behind his siblings (which is not anything to worry about – not all kittens develop at the same rate; he seems to be about a day or two behind them, but I suspect he’ll catch up to them in the weeks to come).
I do have a “favorite videos” page (which is also linked in the sidebar.) I’ve added the Tina video to it!

Are Jeff and Richie a bonded pair?
I don’t think we’ve got any bonded pairs, but I’m keeping an eye on them and will let y’all know if that changes!

While Richie, Sydney and Jeff (and Gumby!) stay in bed…
Carmy has his breakfast. The other day I wondered if he’d lap his formula from a bowl, and yes indeed he will. He’s been a little frustrated at how slow feeding goes when I’m syringe feeding him, so now he’s in charge of how fast he eats. (He gets more than that little bit of formula, don’t worry. I’m not starving him!)
“Taste was excellent, but you get an F minus on your plating presentation.”
Carmy rolls around in my lap and gets some belly rubs.
Carmy and Sydney following Tina around. Carmy clearly wishes that tail was closer!
That little smile on Jeff’s face! He likes this “sunshine” stuff, I think.
Mama checks to be sure Jeff’s face is clean.
And Jeff does a little mushroom climbing.
Richie looks like he’s ready for another nap.

After following me around, hoping I’d have some food for him (I did not), Rocco takes a rest.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
In case you missed it on the blog this morning: Tina was spayed on Tuesday, since I didn’t think she’d make it to the next scheduled spay/neuter day without going into heat, and NONE of our ears wanted to go through that experience. She did great, she’s still producing milk, she’s encouraging the kittens to nurse, and as I type this I can hear her in the foster room lecturing the kittens for something they’ve done or aren’t doing.
Yesterday was National One Hit Wonder day, so Bonnie sent us a picture of a couple of our former fosters: black kitty Thunderclap Newman (TC) and tuxie Jethro Tull (JT). (I was informed in no uncertain terms when I fostered the litter in 2014 that Jethro Tull had MORE than one hit, so they didn’t fit the “one hit wonder” theme. Oops! Sorry/not sorry. Also in the litter: sisters Thin Lizzy and Molly Hatchet)
Bonnie reports that …”They’re both doing great. I should take a video of morning meal time: Jethro dutifully jumps up on the counter to his preferred first step eating location while TC talks and talks and talks until his bowl is ready then he escorts us over to his preferred eating place. He has to show us every morning in case we’ve forgotten. Then after about ten bites Jethro jumps down and goes over to enjoy TC’s breakfast. Meanwhile we place Jethro’s bowl by the door (his second preferred place) so TC can eat there. Then they switch back and forth until it’s gone, knowing their kibble doesn’t get put down until the breakfast bowls are empty. And none of this process takes into account the hoops we jump through with Screechie who wants what she wants when she wants it…until she doesn’t.” (Screech is their “semi spoiled sister. She was airlifted out of Kabal, Afghanistan two years ago, where she proudly served in the United States Embassy there.” Thank you for your service, Screech!)
(Thanks, Bonnie!)

The kittens, playing in (and around, and behind) the litter box, and Carmy’s figuring things out. They’re growing up so fast!
Throw Back Thursday: This picture from 2015 popped up in my memories. We fostered three bottle babies named Badger, Skinny Pete (the kitten pictured, who I initially thought was a boy and turned out to be a girl) and Combo. I didn’t have enough heated beds, so I was using rice socks to help keep them warm, and I think it’s safe to say that Skinny Pete was a big, big fan of the rice sock. (“What’s a rice sock?” A sock, filled with rice, which you warm up in the microwave. I prefer a heated bed, but rice socks will do in a pinch.)

Throw Back Thursday: from 2015, the SwimBugs (combined litters the Swimmers & the Squash Bugs) were very hoppy!)
Carmy gets a kiss from mama. (Judging by the size of those paws, I feel confident in predicting that Carmy’s going to be a big guy!)
Good night innernets. (From left: Richie, Sydney, Jeff and Carmy.)(I love how much they love this bed!)
