Please share this page – let’s help find Loki a home!
A little over three years ago, I opened the door as I was going to work, my two boys behind me and in strolled a small orange kitten, Loki. He has been my son’s constant companion since that day. He sleeps with them, lays in their lap, follows them around and is entirely their cat, not mine.
4 months ago, we moved as a family in with my Fiance into a house that he renovated for us. We brought him, and our other cat with us and attempted to merge with his cats. It has not gone well. He is very afraid of the other cats and hisses and growls whenever they get close to him, and they in turn take the invitation and attack him. This has led to months of him being isolated 24 hours a day while we tried everything we could think of, from vets to suggestions by friends. We have spent hundreds of dollars trying to make this work, but it has come to the point where it is obvious that he is miserable and stressed and all we are doing is continuing his misery and stress.
I call Loki my lovable Frat boy. He’s a sweet dumb jock cat, no social graces, barely can manage his own feet kind of cat. He is gentle, but there is strength to him so sometimes he rubs into you hard, or kneads pretty hard. He can be fussy about his ears and belly, but he loves scritches and his highest compliment is laying against you. He’s litter trained, and good with kids. When he’s naughty, if you fuss at him he will meow his broken meow at you and immediately stop. He wants to be a good cat, he just has this deep love for going in clothing drawers and getting into his cat food bag.
It breaks my heart to do this, I wouldn’t if I could find any other way but we have come to the end of our resources and are hoping that someone out there can take him in and give him a space to be relaxed and stress free in.
