Date of birth: 7/22/15
The Swimmers – boys Louganis, Phelps, Spitz, and their sister Torres – came to us on August 6, 2015. Their mother (who previously gave birth to former fosters Paul Simon and Garfunkel as well as a litter in between Simon & Garfunkel and the Swimmers; she was one prolific mama!) was nowhere to be seen. Luckily, the people who’d been trying to trap the mama cat realized that this litter of tiny kittens was left alone in a puddle during a torrential downpour, and helped to save them.
We already had a litter of slightly older bottle babies – the Squash Bugs – and so the Swimmers lived in our bathtub for a few weeks until the two litters could be tested and then combined.
The two litters get along like they’ve always been forever and were best friends almost immediately. (I love it when that happens!)
This litter is super friendly and snuggly, and always have something to say. Despite their rough start, they’re doing great and thriving!
You can read about the Swimmers beginning here (there are links at the top and bottom of each entry; click on the one on the right to take you to the next one). You can see all the pictures taken of them during their stay with us here at Flickr.
Torres was adopted on November 7th.
Louganis and Spitz were adopted together on November 10th.
Phelps was adopted on November 10th also.
PS: The Swimmers’ mother was trapped and has been spayed; she’s hanging up her dancing shoes!
Love little Torres! Is she up for adoption? Would love to bring home to love.
She is! You can contact Challenger’s House (contact information at the bottom of their Petfinder page) for an application.
