Brianna looks so much smaller than Lizzie and Angus in that last pic. Does a couple of weeks of age make that much of a difference?
Brianna is actually a few days older than Angus and Lizzie. Her small size is mostly due to the rough shape she was in when I got her. She was terribly underweight and due to the upper respiratory infection, she wasn’t interested in eating. It wasn’t until the antibiotics kicked in (along with getting fluids regularly) that she started eating on her own. She’s eating (and gaining) great, but after a start like that, she may just always be smaller than she would have been otherwise.

That pic of Lord John Grey snuggling looks like he’s caught a bit of the loons from Jake 🙂
That boy has definitely caught a case of the loons!

Have you had a group of fosters that you’ve named after Breaking Bad Characters or Better Call Saul characters?
In 2015, we had the BeeBees, (left to right) Skinny Pete, Badger and Combo. It was the summer of unending bottle babies (I had the Squash Bugs and then the Swimmers, and when I finally had all of them weaned from the bottle, along came these three orphans. It’s been so long that I don’t recall why we didn’t name them Walter White, Jesse Pinkman and Saul Goodman (which we still haven’t used), but we really liked the characters Skinny Pete and Badger, so probably Fred suggested it and I agreed.
As it turned out, Skinny Pete was a girl, but she kept the name.

Fergus is all “What’s she doin’?” and Jenny is all “Just bein’ weird, I think.”
Roger puttin’ the ol’ chomperoo on Ian, who just smiles.
“This doesn’t involve you, lady,” says Roger. “Move it along.”
Angus wonders if it’s time to talk to Ian about his tail obsession.
Marsali, Brianna and Lizzie all in a row. Brianna just can’t stand it…
I mean, there was a tail RIGHT there. What was she supposed to do?
We have a lights-on, no-one-home situation with Jamie, it appears.
Fergus would like it known that he, too, can be da baybee sometimes.
So the big news is that we now have adoptions pending on four of the kittens – Angus and Ian will be adopted together (the adopters came to meet Ian, but Angus totally charmed them so they decided on two!), Fergus will be joining a home with a young playful kitty (and some very playful children!), and Lord John Grey will be joining a home with a playful girl kitty.
If you’re keeping track, that’s 4 (Lord John Grey, Fergus, Ian and Angus) adoption pending, and 7 (Jocasta, Brianna, Jamie, Jenny, Lizzie, Marsali and Roger) still available!

It’s an old picture of Dewey, so you don’t forget how absolutely adorable that boy is.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
Lord John Grey’s in a post-breakfast let-it-all-hang-out stupor. (And Marsali’s ignoring him.)
Oh that Jocasta is just the PRETTIEST, isn’t she? (Email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire about adopting her. We are located in Huntsville, Alabama.)

Throw Back Thursday: This video just kills me. From 2019, fosters Margeaux (on the floor with kittens nursing) and Katriane came to us from the same hoarding situation (they may actually be mother and daughter). We actually got Margeaux first, along with three kittens we were told belonged to her. As it turned out (after I realized the kittens weren’t getting any milk when they were attempting to nurse and took them all to the vet the next morning), Margeaux wasn’t producing any milk at all and hadn’t anytime recently, and they weren’t her kittens. So we ended up getting Katriane, who WAS producing milk and her 3 kittens. Katriane let Margeaux’s not-kittens nurse alongside her own, while Margeaux was pretty much like “See ya!” and spent most of her time up and away from the kittens.
But the story doesn’t end there. As it turned out, Margeaux was in the very early stages of pregnancy, and we didn’t realize it until she started to show. Margeaux ended up having SIX kittens of her own, and while Katriane was like “Oh, no thank you” at the idea of letting the new kittens nurse, she was super sweet to Margeaux (DESPITE the fact that Margeaux was zero help when Katriane was raising those 6 kittens), and when I spotted her grooming Margeaux I melted. SO SWEET.
(Katriane is the only mother cat I’ve ever had who successfully weaned her kittens. Every other mother I’ve had has let the kittens nurse until they were either put in a onesie or was adopted.)
Margeaux and Katriane were adopted TOGETHER. Margeaux is now Elfie, and Katriane is Neko, and you can see them on Instagram at Keeping Tabbies.
Oh that Marsali, she is the CUTEST. (She let a small child carry her around repeatedly yesterday and handled it with good humor, so: good with children, in case you were wondering. Email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire about adopting her.)

Throw Back Thursday: From 2018, Axle* was da baybeee.
*son of Ryder, who had 9 – OF HER OWN – kittens, and somehow kept them fed before they were all rescued by a Forgotten Felines volunteer who fostered them for a few weeks while waiting for my foster room to open up.
That’s a bed of CUTE, right there. Left to right: Roger, Fergus and Ian.
It’s a Good Night Roger Pie. (My favorite!)
