Meet the Dragons! Here they are, in order of birth.
A LOT of y’all lobbied to name the little orphan Jon Snow, but there’ll be a litter named after House Stark in the future, so I didn’t want to use the name now. I really like the names I ended up using; I hope you do too! (And if you don’t, you can secretly call them by another name. I’ll never know!)
And another shot of Ruth:
I know it looks like she might be a calico, but the fur that photographs as red is really more of a caramel-colored brown. It’s a lot like one of Corbie’s shades of brown. I could be wrong – it could turn more red as she grows – so we shall see. It’ll be fun to see how she turns out, won’t it?
If I walk into the room with Khaleesi’s plate of food and the babies are nursing, I put it in the crate with her so that she can eat while they nurse. She comes out of the crate from time to time for a break, and if I see her flopped down in the middle of the room (I glance in there whenever I go by the room), I go in and pet her. She has the loudest purr, that one.
The Dragons are doing well. Fred was a little worried about Norbert, who is smaller than the other kittens. But he’s nursing well and he’s gaining weight – he’s just a small guy, at least for now.
A couple of people mentioned that they thought the Dragons look bigger than they usually do at this age. They’re actually smaller than the Royals were at this point – in fact, Norbert just hit 4 1/2 ounces yesterday (at 4 days old), which is what Buttercup and Aslan weighed at 1 day old. The weight chart for the Dragons is at the bottom of their page (and the Royals’ weight chart is at the bottom of their page.) Khaleesi’s a pretty small cat, so maybe they just look bigger than they are by comparison.

Showin’ that toy mouse who the boss is.
Was I wildly waving a feather teaser over my head, do you suppose?
Trying to get all the kittens AND Kate in one picture is going to be the death of me.
“THIS MY CAT TREE! YOU GO ‘WAY!” (I know it looks like Charming is three times bigger than Buttercup here, but it’s the angle. He’s bigger, but not THAT much bigger.)
“Madame, I don’t believe I care for your tone.”
Kate spent a good amount of time wandering around the house this weekend. So far, so good. She’s REALLY interested in the goings-on in Khaleesi’s room, and will often sit right outside the door. I think she can hear the babies in there and she’s curious.

I tried to go to bed the other night, and Stinkerbelle was on my bed shooting Tommy the crazy-eyed looks of love. When I walked over to the bed, she hissed at me. HISSED. At me. I was all “Look, YOU. That is MY bed and I will sleep there if I want to! But lucky for you I prefer to sleep on the couch for now. Please let me know when you’re vacating the premises. THANKS.” Yeah, I told HER.
