I don’t know which I love more, here – Buttercup’s desperate, wild-eyed climb to the top of the scratching post, Aslan’s windmill arms as he tries to stop her, or Jareth ignoring Buttercup and poking Aslan just ’cause he’s there.
Aslan is DETERMINED to stop Buttercup.
And trying to convince her to come down and let HIM have the top of the scratching post, while Jareth keeps messing with his tail.
Buttercup the pretty little poser.
Jareth’s pretty sure there’s room for him up there, too.
“If there’s room for HIM, there must be room for ME!” says Aslan.
And Buttercup vacates the scratching post, upside-down.
Telling his woes to the stuffed kitty. “And then I was going to go hang out with Buttercup on top of the scratching post, and she was all “SEEya!” and she was GONE and I think she doesn’t like me. ::pout::”
Since I was weighing the mama kitties yesterday (see the next section for info on that), I weighed the Royals as well, since they’re now 7 weeks old and I’ve gone to weighing them once a week. Charming is a hefty 2 pounds, 4 ounces, Aslan and Jareth are just under 2 pounds, and Leia and Buttercup are at 1 pound, 12 ounces. Those babies are growing up!

I don’t know why, but Khaleesi tends to half sit up when the babies are nursing. I mean, I’ve also seen her laying on her side, but she seems to prefer this position. She’s such a goof.
Scorch, at the milk bar (he’s always at the milk bar!)
Okay, Scorch looks humongous here.
As long as you’re comfy, Ember.
To answer a couple of the questions in yesterday’s comments – Khaleesi weighed in at 7 pounds, 13 ounces yesterday. I also weighed Kate, who is at 7 pounds, 6 1/2 ounces. But Kate is skin and bones and Khaleesi hasn’t had the life sucked out of her just yet (I imagine by the time the dragons are 7 weeks old, she’ll be skin and bones, too.)
Regarding Khaleesi’s reaction when we handle the babies: the first day, she was really worried and not pleased about it, but after that, she’s been perfectly fine. I mean, we don’t handle the babies that much, just when we need to weigh them, and very briefly to get those pictures in yesterday’s post, but most of the time we look and don’t touch.

Joe Bob’s smug little face just cracks me UP.
