I meant to post this on Friday and forgot – this is what the kittens look like at 10 weeks old!
Peekaboo! Pinochle is such a stringbean right now – they’ve hit their long and lanky stage. (He gained 6 ounces this week and weighs nearly 3 pounds. He’s not starving.)

Run! Run! They get very excited when the door to the rest of the upstairs is open and they can race in and out! (Canasta’s not in her onesie because I was giving her a break – which I do several times a day, as long as I’m keeping an eye on her.)
Julie (left) and Hensley went back to their foster mom this morning. I’ll miss having them snuggling up next to me at night – but Charlie will be glad to have middle-of-the-night access to me again! ❤️

While all the other kittens (and Canasta) napped, Whist and Uno decided it was time to tussle (well, and Uno needed to chase her tail for a bit also.)

I love the way wearing this onesie makes Canasta look like she has an ultra-long neck. One week into wearing the onesie (with frequent breaks), things are going well. Her milk sacs are much smaller, the kittens have adapted to the fact that there’s no more milk bar, and she’s gained a little weight. One more week, and she’ll be headed home!
Rummy and Slapjack are keeping Mama company in the puffy bed (and in the next moment she stomped off for some alone time!)

Uncle Charlie wouldn’t mind being friends, but I’m not sure the kittens are up for friendship yet. They certainly are curious about him, though!

Former foster alert! Here we have sweet Gladstone (he was Mr. Stripey of the ‘Maters litter back in 2012 (!)), who just turned NINE. (I swear to you, it seems like just yesterday that he and his brothers were running their poor mother – Brandywine – ragged. They were wild things!) Happy (belated) birthday, sweet boy! Where oh where could the kittens be?!
An up-close shot of Whist’s nose. She had a pink nose when she was born, then she got a little freckle, and then it spread. Now her nose is all dark except for that one little piece.

Meet the kittens (again)! I did a “meet the kittens” video when they were 3 weeks old – it’s time to “meet” them again (they’re 10 1/2 weeks now.) This time with bonus Canasta!
The cat houses in the back yard were getting pretty rough looking, so Fred painted them. (Permanent resident) Jake refused to go into his favorite house for several days, causing Fred to fret (as he does), but finally Jake returned. Now I think this house needs a sign over the door. Maybe “The Loon is in”?
Slapjack’s been admiring (permanent resident) Uncle Charlie. “He’s fabulous!”

Throw back Thursday: Back in 2014 we fostered this tiny little housepanther named Tricki. She was a scaredy cat, but when she warmed up, she was the sweetest, goofiest girl ever. Oh, how I loved her.❤️

The kittens are 11 weeks old today and this is what they look like now!
We have adoptions pending on Uno (without a sibling – joining a home with a playful kitty in residence), Fizzbin (without a sibling – kitties in residence already), and Rummy and Slapjack together. Pinochle and Whist are still available, and you can email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info@ffhsv.org to inquire about them. They (as well as their siblings) are scheduled for their spay/neuter surgeries on May 25th, and would be available to head home a few days after that.
A lot of people have asked who Da BAYbee is of this litter, and I gotta say: I have NO idea. None of them are particularly talkative, though I wonder if that’ll change once Canasta leaves and isn’t here to do all their talking for them.

How to get an awesome kitten picture:
Step one: have an awesome cat tree.
Step two: walk into the room and find all the kittens on the cat tree.
Step three: Start the ceiling fan pull swinging back and forth.
Step four: take a ton of pictures.
Voila!
