Weekly Instagram/Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr Roundup.
In case you wondered what Canasta’s abdominal situation looks like after 2 weeks in the onesie, you can see that her milk has dried up beautifully, her fur is growing back nicely, and she’s ready to put this nonsense behind her.

We’re in our last 24 hours with Canasta (she heads to her forever home tomorrow morning), and I’m just trying to soak in all her silly, goofy, zany ways. That girl cracks me UP.
Hooray, hooray, Canasta has been adopted!! She is heading home right this minute…. to SEATTLE! That’s right, her adopter flew here from Seattle to adopt her. (According to Google, Seattle’s as far as you can get from Huntsville, Alabama without leaving the contiguous United States.)
Her name will remain Canasta AND she will have an Instagram page. She joins kitty sister Olivia who will be able to stand up to her bossy ways. (They’re going to start an alternative band and play the coffee houses.)(Maybe not.)
I know y’all will miss seeing her here – but you’ll get to see her still, and sending her off to a loving forever home is exactly what that sweet girl deserves! Happy life, sweet girl. (And thank you for making that trip, Jimmy!) ❤️

Canasta was adopted this morning and is headed home to Seattle. (Yes, someone flew in from Seattle specifically to adopt her!) Here’s a video of pictures of her from when she joined us to when she left to head off to her forever home. We’ve loved having her here – and are so excited to see her head off on new adventures! You can see her on Instagram at @oli.and.canasta !!!

Line ’em up! Left to right: Rummy, Whist, Uno, Pinochle, Slapjack and Fizzbin.
“HALLO!” Slapjack goes cactus climbin’.
Got word last night… we are ADOPTION PENDING on Uno, Whist and Pinochle. The three of them are going TOGETHER!!! This means that all of the kittens have adoptions pending. They’re going for their spays and neuters next Tuesday, and will start heading home a few days after that.
A lot of y’all have asked how the kittens are since Canasta left, and the answer is that they seem a little puzzled, like something is missing but they’re not entirely sure what it is. They’re fine and getting plenty of attention from us (and lots of visit from Uncle Charlie!)
(In case you missed it earlier, we are adoption pending on Pinochle, Whist and Uno, who will be adopted together (yes, all three!), which means that all 6 kittens are now adoption pending.)
(Picture taken by Teresa!) We took a break yesterday afternoon from packing for the auction, and looked up to see these judgmental little faces!

Yesterday marked 16 years since we got our very first litter of fosters – mama kitty Mia and her 5 kittens – Snoopy, Edgar, Oy, Flossie, and Peanut. (That was back before we went to using naming themes for litters.) Including the Cardsharks we’ve now fostered 442 cats and kittens. ❤️
Every year I think “I should do a video that includes every single cat and kitten we’ve fostered up ’til now!” That would be neat, but this isn’t the year I’m making that happen. Maybe next year? (Don’t hold your breath.)
It’s not Toesday, but you just go ahead and admire these beans anyway.

With Mama Canasta gone (she was adopted earlier this week), the kittens are finding that they’re in charge of their own baths. Luckily they’re good at it!
It is Thlurrrpsday, after all.

Who’s Da BAYbee? The conclusion is unclear, though Pinochle seems to be making a strong play for the title.
(Permanent residents) Newt and Charlie nap it off.

The kittens are 12 weeks old today! This is what they look like now – like grown-ups, practically. (I assure you that every single person who has seen them in person after seeing their pictures always says “They’re so much smaller than I thought they’d be!”) How is it that they’re even cuter than they were last week?

I told someone I’d share a video of all of Canasta’s belly pics, I made the video… and then I forgot to share it. Oops! Here it is! (I had forgotten just how huuuge she got before she had the kittens!) Just a reminder – you can see Canasta (and her sister!) on Instagram at @oli.and.canasta !
I know it’s hard to see what’s going on in this picture, but what you need to know is that that’s Fizzbin curled up in my armpit sound asleep with one foot hiked up over her head. I’ve always said, personality-wise, she’s the most like her mama.

Uncle Charlie LOVES the Da Bird feather teaser… and the kittens are learning to love it too!

I swear half the reason Uncle Charlie likes hanging out in the kitten room is so that he can make Love Eyes at the feather teasers and jump up and grab at them.
