Grant has tested the basket and pronounced it good.


He fits in it perfectly!


It’s a comfy place to hang out while he bats toys around.


Gilbert also gives the basket his full approval.


Marshall, who tends to be a little bit nuttypants to start with, got the crazy eyes.


And then he melted out of it.


It was a safe place to keep an eye on Grant’s shenanigans.

I know it’s blurry, but it still makes me laugh. Gilbert has a weird obsession with my camera – not the camera strap, the camera itself – and he was playing with that track toy when he realized that I had the camera out. He came running over to try to bite the lens.

He still appreciates nap time, though.

  2. Looks like Newt is living the good life there at Crooked Acres; he’s fat and sassy! Kittehs are adorable, glad to see you have some to post their antics!

  3. Yeahhhh, so I have a feeling these kittens are going to be a barrel of laughs. Especially Marshall. That boy seems to have a special quality.

  4. We also have one of those feather teaser toys with almost no feathers left. Hubby keeps trying to throw it away, but the cats still love it.

    The word of the day is “nuttypants.”

  6. Mentally, I’m going to have a (Cary) in front of Grant’s name. He’s got leading man written all over him.

    Marshall is such a little love. He looks like a stand in from Puss and Boots. I love Gilbert’s personality. I wish that we had a shot of him biting the camera.

    Oh no Newt, hanging out by the fence, looking like you’re plotting. No, that doesn’t look like you’re up to something.

  9. We don’t see nearly enough of Mr. Man Newt.

    So, what’s Dennis’ situation, any takers yet? I know you’ve read this a bajillion times already, but if I didn’t live in Canada… My guys would love him. As would I… Sweet little muffin.

    Oh, those Doodles! I love me some orange/buff kittens.

    1. No takers for Dennis yet, unfortunately. I thought I’d give it a couple of weeks and then post another “Dennis needs a home!” post, in hopes of catching someone’s eye.

  10. Awww, Gilbert is the cutest!! Love him!!! Could you tell me where you got the green and black cat basket?

    1. I got it from Wexford Treasures on Etsy. It wasn’t actually sold as a kitten bed – I think she called it a plant basket. It measures 3″ high, 8.5″ across the top and 6.5″ diameter, so I thought I’d give it a try, and as you can see, it’s the perfect size for 2 month old kittens!

  11. Love the picture of Marshall watching Grant take off… it looks like Grant is a superhero kitty and he’s all “I have to go, my people need me!”

  12. The only Gilbert there will ever be for me is Gilbert Blythe from Anne of Green Gables… sigh. So now you need a little red headed orphan girl kitten to add to this litter and name her Anne 🙂
    And Marshall looks a little like Dobby the house elf in the head shakin photo.

    1. When Robyn was introducing the kittens on the blog their first day, and the first was Gilbert, I TOTALLY thought that was where it was going. (“Gilbert? Oh goodie, surely there must be an Anne kitten, too”)

  17. Loved the term “nuttpants” for Marshall! Is that an incipient loony look in his crazy eyes? He’s an gorgeous shade of orange too! and love the head shake pic.
