Mariette looks similar to our Viola, the one Niblet foster we adopted ourselves, and that reminded us to ask if you’ve ever had a bobtail or manx permanent resident? They are very, very special! *hint hint*
I’ve noticed that Viola and Mariette look like they could be sisters!
Our dear departed Mister Boogers was a bobtail, actually. And what he lacked in tail, he more than made up for in personality. He was chock-FULL of personality, that one.
And one of my favorite pictures of him:

I can’t imagine a marble countertop being warm. they use those for fudge because they tend to stay cold.
why are you torturing those poor cats by making them sleep on cold marble and not cozy, snuggy catbeds Robyn?
MARBLE. Does that really look like marble? Because if so, my photographic abilities are way better than I thought they were. That’s not marble, it’s whatever the cheapest, crappiest countertop material is. I dream of replacing that countertop (and, okay, all those cabinets), but it won’t be anytime soon. (Especially with Stinkerbelle pretty much living on top of the cabinets!)
But aside from that, that corner where Newt likes to sleep is probably the warmest place in the kitchen (well, aside from the oven, maybe). Which is why he sleeps there, of course. I’d like to say that I’ll never put a cat bed on the kitchen counter, but I am SURE it’s only a matter of time.

You have to wonder about those tails….seems the extra long ones make up for the “no tail” kittens. there was a weird tail memo going on with this crew ๐
I think the guy in charge of tails in the kitten factory was sleeping on the job, and when he realized he’d forgotten one kitten’s tail and only given a little nub of a tail to another kitten, he panicked and over-tailed the rest of them!

synchronized jumping!! (spot the non-cats)
That is really well done!

We’ve all seen cats inside boxes, but there are a couple new riffs on the theme here.
Love it! I really need to get a clear glass bowl and take it into the foster room. Those are my favorite pictures!

“They’re always LICKIN’ each other. Horrifying! I do not approve!” Grumpulous Dennis.
Orlando and… I don’t know. Maria?
Ferdinand’s turn to bathe Angelo.
Orlando shows that he desperately needs a claw trim.
Orlando ain’t skeered o’ you, Mariette.

Corbie would like you to know that it was 70 degrees here yesterday, and there were NO complaints from him.

Boogie!
Awwwww, Mr. Boogers! It can’t be just me… I’m sensing a “Yeah, I’m adorable, but whatchu gonna do about it (besides take my picture)” vibe from Corbie! Glad he’s out and about and not in the snow! The kittens, as always, are adorable. I LOVE the updates on the fosters earlier this week. Robyn, with all your pictures, you do provide such a service to adopters, chronicling their new family members’ first days – – a baby album, if you will (being the fifth child, as pictures got fewer and fewer as the family grew, my baby album almost starts with my kindergarten photo – LOL!). I especially love the new kitten photos compared to the photos taken as they get ready for adoption. Growing on that, take a look at http://www.boredpanda.com/before-after-animals/ – – will MELT YOUR HEART!! Have a great weekend! (secretly hoping for a surprise Saturday post… no pressure!)
Oh, good lord – that is ADORABLE! I think seeing then-and-now pictures of cats (and dogs… okay, and people sometimes!) is one of my favorite things. ๐
Dennis looks like a mini version of Corbie in those pictures.
I have a bobtail – a red tabby – he’s a very compact kitty (but fat.) He has what I think is the classic red tabby personality. I love to watch him play, when a tailed cat would be lashing or wiggling its tail, Flame does the same with his little one inch tail, it is the cutest!
Mister Boogers wagged his stump a lot – it’s especially cute when a bobtail does it, isn’t it? ๐
Beautiful Corbie.
I have fostered only one bobtail kitten….and he did the bunny hop if he ran really fast. It cracked me up every time.
Mariette walks like a kitten but hops like a bunny. It is just SO cute!
Boogie AND Corbie in one post! You are spoiling us, Miz Robyn!
Dennis’s grumpy face is just adorable! I love it!
Well, you could put a stack of old kitchen towels in the counter corner, that would at least not look like defeat! (Though Newt looks contented enough as it is.)
I could, couldn’t I? I’ll have to think about that. And the towels would catch and hold some of the fur Newt blesses us with, so I wouldn’t have to worry so much about cat hair on the counters! Well, in theory, anyway. ๐
That’s a good idea but I suspect that Joe Bob likes the countertop the way it is.
Especially in the summer, it’s probably nice and cool.
I admit that I pile throw rugs in seemingly weird places like the middle of the hallway but they’re right underneath the heating vents. Just coincidentally.
Dennis’ face reminds me of Stompers. I need some photo-shopping skillz to turn Dennis orange so I can see if there is really a resemblance or if I’m just crazy! ๐
Love the bath pictures and I agree with you about the fairy in charge of the tails!
P.S. In one pic you have labeled Mariette(with a T) as Marielle (with an L). I know Maria and Mariette are pretty close for names but I’m pretty sure this is a spelling error.
Oh, thank you for letting me know! I don’t know why, all of a sudden, my brain has decided that her name is Marielle. At least I haven’t called Ferdinand “Fernando” in a while. ๐
Hee hee, the “Tail Fairy”!! ๐
(and yay, I’m not spam anymore!)
“I think the guy in charge of tails in the kitten factory was sleeping on the job, and when he realized heโd forgotten one kittenโs tail and only given a little nub of a tail to another kitten, he panicked and over-tailed the rest of them!” LOL
I love that pic of Orlando licking his paws with his ears back. Like he’s wearing a baseball cap backwards.
Boogie with a toupee, the indignity!!!
I *love* Dennis! I always have a thing for that sort of round, fuzzy looking face as opposed to the sleeker, more elegant looking cats. Dennis looks a lot like my Hobbes, actually!
nervous Congressional aide: “Senator Boogers, uh, your toupee has slipped. Sir.”
I wouldn’t complain either Corbie.. we won’t see that kind of warmth for a while
