All five in one picture! Okay, so they weren’t all looking at the camera, but they’re all present and that’s pretty much all I ask for.
You have no idea how many times a day I smooch that little face. Oh, he kills me.
He’s being stern and commanding. “Lady! You brings that feather teaser over here RIGHT NOW! Or else!”
Scorch, who was hanging out in that basket under the chair, saw the feather teaser and was all “Here I come to save the day!”
“OUT MY WAY! MIGHTY SCORCH GONNA GET THAT TEASER!”
“Someone always biting me on my back. It must be because that lady says I’m scrumptious.”
Norbert certainly looks guilty here. Actually, so do Ember and Ruth!
Khaleesi got through her spay surgery just fine – and was very happy to get home. While she was gone Tuesday evening, her kittens got their first vaccinations, and then Fred threw the barrier at the end of the hallway open so that they could have the run of the house. As usually happens, the kittens came downstairs, looked around, and decided it was nothing special. They were happy to go into their room at bedtime, and didn’t seem to realize that Khaleesi wasn’t with them.
After I got Khaleesi home yesterday morning, I let them have the run of the house again, and I don’t think any of them – including Khaleesi – even came past the top step ’til Fred got home and coaxed them downstairs. It always takes about a week before they start running around the house like their butts are on fire, and even a little longer than that ’til they’re truly at home downstairs.
I weighed them earlier this week (their weight chart is at the bottom of this page), and everyone except for wee Ember is now over two pounds! Khaleesi even gained a few ounces, which she very much needed. I had thought that I’d take the kittens off to be spayed and neutered as soon as they were all over two pounds just to get it over with, but we’re only three weeks from their 12-week mark (when they could get their rabies shots at the same time they’re spayed and neutered), so I may wait. Or I may not. I haven’t decided!

Am I going to have to separate you two? (Arya on the bottom, Hodor on top.)
My favorite thing about them at this age: when their bellies are full and their bladders are empty, they show their contentment by rolling around on their backs. And then I squeeze them and kisskisskiss them. They purr when I kiss them.
They also show contentment by biting each other.
Brandon, appalled by something.
The most interesting part of this picture is Brandon in the background, apparently saddling up the lobster for a ride around the tub.
The Golden Toilet award goes to Jon Snow. I put a litter box in the tub with them Tuesday night and they ignored it at first, but then when I went in to check on them, Jon Snow was in there, peeing! And then yesterday morning I went in, mid-morning, and it looked like every one of them had pooped in the litter box. I mean, then they proceeded to tromp through it and get it all over the tub, but come on. Just over 3 weeks old and pooping in the litter box! Clearly, they’re geniuses.
The idea of keeping them in the tub turned out to be a really good one. The sink is right there for when they need a bath, and the tub is easy to clean when they get gross stuff smeared all over. I had thought that I’d move them into a cage in the foster room upstairs (the one that the Dragons and Khaleesi aren’t in), but I think I’ll give them a few more days before I do that.

Alice Mo, in the back yard showing off her stripes (and her Ears of Annoyance.)
Did you know that Alice has her very own theme song? I mean, I only share it every single time I post a picture of her so you might have forgotten.

Those dragons are the cutest kittehs EVER. I have clearly been mistaken in the past when I have said that about other litters.
I can post a comment I died of cute
That picture of Norbles, about to fall backward onto Ember, made me giggle. He has the sweetest feets! And ears! And cheeks! And and and… ::DIES::
Love that picture.
Matrix Norbie!!!! Tooooo cute! I lubs me some Norbie!!! But I loves all the kittens, Robyn!!!! To our US friends – have a safe and happy 4th of July!!! To the rest of the kitten fans – Happy Thursday!!
Matrix Norbie!!!! I LOL’d at that picture. That one is definitely caption worthy!
Awww….racing dragons and peeing starks. 🙂 happy 4th
HODOR!
What are the words to Alice Mo’s theme song? “Alice Mo, Alice Mo, something something something spaghetti-o”?
Alice Mo/ The Cal-i-co/ Sure does love/ Her Daddy, yo. 🙂
Norbert and the invisible limbo pole! Sadly, he looks like he’d be better at limbo than I ever was. 🙁
And congratulations on super-smart kitties using the litter box already!
Happy 4th!
I was thinking Norbert was doing the limbo also which is the perfect 4th of July activity. Enjoy everyone!
Norbert! The picture of him standing and pointing reminds me of the Uncle Sam recruiting posters. But his poster needs to say “I want YOU to adopt a kitten!”
Lobster races in the tub sound fun! And yay for kittens using the litter box!
Happy 4th of July!!
“Did you know that Alice has her very own theme song? I mean, I only share it every single time I post a picture of her so you might have forgotten.”
–And I watch it every single time you post it 🙂
I protest: “All five in one picture” leaves out beautiful mama Khaleesi. (I know you didn’t mean to!) And despite the Ears of A, that is a fetching picture of Alice. As for the Starks, the overhead bathtub shot reveals what tiny tots they are — far too young to be declared independent. Those charismatic Dragons, however, are very nearly there!
Ayra looks like she is a mini-Alice.
Looks like Norbert’s channeling a little bit of “The Matrix” in that overbalancing pic, dodging invisible bullets in slow-motion!
Norbert, oh Norbert, you have stolen my heart back from Brandon. *smooches*
