It’s raffle time! This time around, up for raffle is this adorable crocheted blanket; proceeds will benefit the Forgotten Felines of Huntsville Sanctuary Fund.
From a distance, it’s “just” a pretty blanket. But look!
Kitties!
Lots and lots of kitties!
Here are the rules and instructions:
Entries are $5 each, and you can enter as many times as you’d like. Buy your tickets between now and Saturday evening at 7 PM Central Time, and the drawing will be here, live, with (hopefully) the help of a kitten or two. You can see more pictures and a video of the quilt over at the auction page, right here.

On Saturday…
Stapler was adopted!
She went home to Bellingham, Washington which is actually the farthest someone has come to adopt one of my fosters! (2,571 miles, to be exact, from Athens, Alabama to Bellingham, Washington. In second place is Seattle, Washington (2,489 miles) and in third is Sacramento, California (2,284 miles.) There’s a clickable map right here if you’re interested in seeing where fosters have gone – these are for where they went when they left me, not necessarily where they are now (I know a lot of adopters have moved after adopting!)
Here are the rest of the pictures I took of her while she was here with us.
Yes, I sent that blanket home with her.
Lying at the top of the stairs. “The better to make you fall and break a hip, lady!”
And yep, I sent not one but two teasers home with her!
That door is between the living room (where she was) and the back porch (where I was). I don’t know how we got so lucky, but she never figured out that cat door, even when she watched Khal and Charlie walk through it!
The adopters are going to change her name, but want to get to know her before deciding on a new name. She has two kitty siblings in her new home to play with, and I think she’s going to be one happy girl. It’s definitely much quieter around here without her playing or bringing me her teaser to throw for her!

Moxie in the CatLadyBox, just chillin’.
Fanta (left) and Poppi in the window.
And Sundrop and Poppi in the same location, a bit later.
YEP. They get their Churu on the Churu desk, and they are waiting oh so patiently.
It’s a Sundrop pie which is, as you might have heard, my favorite.
Sodapop has a moment to herself.
“Is this child kidding, right now?” (Right after I took this picture, she stood up and stomped away.
So, yesterday someone was scheduled to come meet Sodapop. But after watching Sodapop over the past few days, I concluded that she wouldn’t be happy as an only cat. The lady who was coming to meet her (who would have been a wonderful home!) wants just one cat. In fact, there were several inquiries/applications for her and all of them wanted her as an only. Watching her play with her kittens, I just don’t think she’d be happy without another cat to play with, so I called the potential adopter and canceled the appointment, and let Forgotten Felines know.
In other words, she’s still available for adoption and if you think a playful girl who is also turning into a bit of a lapcat*, you can email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org to inquire.
*I’m telling you, the instant I typed the words “hasn’t proven to be a lapcat” in her description last week, her ears must have perked up and she said “Challenge accepted!” because she’s been climbing into my lap for short periods of time. And she loooves to be picked up and held against my shoulder and be petted.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky) this weekend.
Stapler’s ready for those April showers! (Thank you to Luli & Cat, who passed the hat to us after Waffle was not a fan!)
Sundrop presents, for your approval: a foot. Look at those clean pink beans!

These kittens crack me UP!
Sodapop says “Lady, the filling (Poppi, Sundrop and Moxie) won’t stay in the pan.”

Run run run! Jump jump jump! Hop hop hop! You never know what they’re gonna do next… but you DO know they’re going to be ridiculously cute when they do it.
Fanta’s enjoying some purified air.
Good night innernets. (Moxie & Poppi in the cube; Sundrop below them on the cat tree.)
Stapler’s all “Howsabout we sleep in today?”

Stapler just LOVES that mylar teaser so very much! (It’s the Necoichi Crinkly Critters Fluttery Fish Cat Wand Toy, and I get them at Chewy.) She loves to drag it around the house and present it to me so I’ll throw it for her. (And yes, I will send it home with her! Along with an extra, just to be safe.) (PS: They are buy 3, get the 4th free on Chewy until May 1st!)
I don’t know what caught Fanta’s (and Sodapop’s) interest, but it must’ve been something!

Sodapop’s playing, and the kittens are like “What is going onnnn?!” You’d think they’d be used to it by now!
Hooray, hooray, Stapler was adopted today! She is headed home right now to Washington State, where she will join a couple of kitty siblings. She will be renamed, but they’re going to get to know her before they decide on her new name. Happy life, sweet girl!!!! ❤️
Poppi and Fanta have a tussle.
Update! Stapler and her parents made it home safe and sound in the early hours of the morning. Did Stapler immediately start exploring with her tail held high? Sure did! ❤❤❤ (Thanks, Kim!)

Stapler was adopted yesterday and went home to Washington State! (A long trip for her and her new parents, but they made it home safe and sound!) Here’s her “From ‘hello’ to adoption” with pictures from her stay with us. Such a cute little poser!
I need to re-write Sodapop’s description, because after watching her over the past week or so, I am certain that she wouldn’t be happy as an only cat. She’s the most playful mama cat I’ve had, I think (and y’all know I’ve had some playful ones!), and needs a kitty friend to chase (and be chased by). Also, after stating that she’s not a lapcat… well, I think she might be a lapcat. She’s started climbing into my lap for short periods of time, and she REALLY likes it when I pick her up and hold her against my shoulder.
So, in short: needs to have a friend in her new home, probably will be a lapcat. If she sounds like your kinda gal, email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info@ffhsv.org to inquire. We’re located in Huntsville, Alabama – out of area adoptions ARE allowed, but the adopter must come here to complete the adoption. Sodapop is about 2 years old, is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped, and ready to go!

I will miss Stapler, but so awesome to see her go to a great home, she looks so comfortable already! And wow what a drive (er, or flight i guess). And sounds wise with what you’ve observed about Sodapop, i guess some mums and cats in a new place really need some time to show their character.
You are so wonderful to your fosters. Lots of work behind those photos, but they are so lucky to have landed in your care. Thank you for all you do.
So happy for Stapler!! Looking forward to hearing what she will tell her family her permanent name should be 🙂
That auction blanket’s design is so clever!
