I keep wondering if the people who had taken in Sodapop will adopt her when she is ready, they must have liked her as they were keeping her until the kittens came and they didn’t feel able to deal with kittens.
and
Was the woman who found Sodapop intending to keep her before she had the surprise kittens?
I think she was trying to find a home for Sodapop before she suddenly had her kittens – they have several cats already (all of whom had been dumped nearby), I don’t think they have space for another.

What all do you do to keep the Pops safe from the respiratory infection the Foundlings have? I imagine it being a lot of washing and cleaning and laundry.
I have a little pile of laundry outside the foster room – I change my pants, slippers and shirt/sweatshirt before I go in and change back when I come out. I wash all the rugs and blankets in the foster room every couple of days, and sweep and mop the same day that I do the laundry. And of course I wash my hands incessantly. I don’t think, at this point, that they’re still contagious, but I’ll keep it up for a while longer. We managed to keep the permanent residents from getting sick (we were most concerned about Khal, since he’s FIV positive), so it seems to be working!

Spiral (left) says “He’s snoring again.”
Helix considers starting something with Posty.
Paper Clip, trying to make me believe the belly is not a trap (it IS.)
Six of the seven! Stapler on top of the cat tree, Posty and Paper Clip on the couch, Helix in the loaf pan, Spiral in the lower left, and Andi next to her. Someone always has to mess up my attempts to get a picture of all of them, though. This time around it’s…
Alley Oop! (I LOVE that you can see Posty and Paper Clip in the mirror on the door.)
Alley Oop comes out of her tunnel to see what’s going on, Paper Clip heads for the food, and Andi and Spiral are just hanging out.
Posty and Alley Oop in the same bed! (The bedding in the pink bed got knocked to the floor, and I guess a bare bed was unacceptable to Posty.)

Fanta giggles. (It was actually a yawn – I thought for a moment I was getting a hiss, but nope. I’ve heard maybe two very quiet hisses so far – some litters are less hissy than others, and this appears to be a less hissy bunch.)
Moxie yawns. It’s a rough life.
Let me direct your attention PAST that super-long umbilical cord (which has since fallen off) to the adorable black dot on Moxie’s adorable little foot.
Fanta loves his mama. Fanta’s fur seems to be an entirely different texture than the rest of the litter – it almost looks like wool, like he’s a lamb. The other three have straight, silky fur and his is more cottony. It makes me wonder if he’s going to be floofy. (I can never tell who’s going to be floofy at this age.)
Yesterday, for the first time, Sodapop decided to come out of the crate for some petting. She stayed out of the crate the whole time I was in there (it probably helped that I wasn’t within arms reach of the kittens; I focused on her) and enjoyed being petted and told how pretty she is. She’s starting to settle in, which I like seeing.

Charlie and Alice voluntarily this close to each other is pretty rare. She’s cowed by him – he’s twice her size and likes to occasionally chase her, which she (as you can imagine) does not care for. I think he thinks they’re playing, but she does NOT. It would be nice if they’d become friends – but barring that, if they could coexist peacefully it would be nice!

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky) yesterday.
I am definitely seeing some coloring on Poppi’s head – and though you can’t see it in this picture, her tail is darker. It will be so interesting to see what she turns out to look like.
These three sisters – from left: Stapler, Posty and Paper Clip – are available for adoption. They are 8 months old, spayed, and up to date on their vaccinations and ready to GO. All three of them are very friendly (Posty and Paper Clip tend to hide at first, but come out to see what’s going on pretty quickly), LOVE to sit on your lap and be petted (Stapler is SUPER extra friendly) and will play like the silliest things you’ve ever seen. They love ping pong balls, springs, and will chase pretty much any toy you toss for them (especially springs). Get out the feather teaser and be ready to see some CRAZY eyes and great big leaps. When they’ve exhausted themselves, they are happy to snuggle up for some love and cuddles and will nap the day away, only to get right back up and play like crazy again. They are not bonded and can be adopted separately as long as there are young cats in their new home for them to play with. (Obviously if you’d like to adopt two or three, we’re fine with that!) They get along well with other cats after some initial hissiness, and are fine with dogs.

Kittens at the milk bar, getting occasionally rowdy and lodging some complaints. You know, the usual.
I swear Moxie is in there; I think she’s under white and orange kitten Sundrop.

Alley Oop and Helix playing with (near) each other. He is such a total nut!
Haaave you met Andi? She’s available for adoption! She’s 8 months old, has gorgeous green eyes and soft, silky fur. Also, no tail! Well, just a tiny little nub of a tail. She’s loaded with personality and marches to the beat of her own drum. She’ll let you pet her – when SHE wants you to pet her. She might sit in your lap if SHE wants to. But then again she might race off to play, to watch birds out the window, or to curl up under a blanket in some quiet spot to snooze the day away. She’s a super playful girl who loves furry, fuzzy, fluffy toys – and also springs! Got a feather teaser? That’ll work! How about a laser light toy? She’ll go for it! She is a silly, goofy, sweetheart and you never know what her next move is going to be – she likes to surprise you! She’s spayed, up to date on vaccinations and ready to go! She gets along great with other cats, and would be fine with dogs.

“Lady, will you please tell this child to settle down? Mama needs a nap.” There’s a whole big world out there, and Poppi wants to see it all!
Good night innernets. (Spiral)

It’s kind of funny that Charlie likes to chase Alice now, because I remember reading somewhere that one of the factors in your deciding to keep him was that he originally honored Alice’s desire to stay away from him!
Also, I find it convenient that the trio of older kitten siblings all have very similar patterns of white cravats, or I’d never remember who was related to whom.
Do you ever help a kitten ‘latch on’ if it looks like the same kitten is having trouble getting to the milk bar?
We have a similar situation as well,
our big orange boy likes to play chase with our smaller older girl, and she is NOT interested. It’s taken close to 2 years and they’re mostly ok now, but sometimes there is some hissing, growling and slappy paws.
