Just a reminder that the Forgotten Felines of Huntsville online auction is going on (it ends Saturday evening), and some of the items up for bid are…
Advent calendars, filled personally by ME. One with catnip/silvervine toys, one without. (The catnip-free one was a huuuge pain to fill – there’s a lack of non-catnip/silvervine toys out there!) The other problem is that the boxes in the calendars are so small that some of the toys I would have used didn’t fit. I’m already thinking ahead to next year’s advent calendar!
Holiday cards featuring the permanent residents… and holiday cards featuring past fosters!
And a Love & Hisses calendar bundled with some adorable ornaments!
I mean, there’s a LOT of non-Love & Hisses stuff there, too (some gorgeous cross-stitch, adorable crocheted kitties, beautiful art work, Jim Shore statues, clothing, handmade hats and scarves – the list goes on! (Yes, I know I sound very informercial-y right now.) Seriously, there’s some cool stuff. Go check it out! (New stuff is added every morning!)
Okay, I’ve used up my quota of exclamation points for today, haven’t I?

Richie’s sweet, content little face just kills me.
“What doin’, lady?” wonder the boys. (From left: Jeff, Carmy & Richie.)
Richie (back) and Carmy have a snuggle.
I got a single shot of Carmy on the Churu desk before everyone else joined him.
I think these guys might like Churu. Ya think? (From left: Carmy, Richie, Jeff, Sydney, Tina.)
I love how Richie is checking for any Churu remnants on Carmy’s face. (From left: Jeff, Richie, Carmy, Sydney, Tina.)
(You can see the last picture in this series down in the social media section.)
In the dining room, wondering if it’s time for breakfast.
It’s a Richie pie (my favorite!) with a few add-ins. Fancy!
Pretty sure I’ve mentioned this before, but Jeff loves this scratcher bowl.
I took the keyboard protector off my desk to use (briefly) as a laptop stand, and Richie was FASCINATED.
Tina’s keeping an eye out for birds.
Forgotten Felines of Huntsville received two applications for Tina at the same time. I don’t process the applications, so I’m just waiting to hear what the news is – I’m hoping that Tina can go home soonish.
Speaking of Tina – her milk is pretty much totally dried up, so I’ll be taking the weansie off of her in the next few days (note: she only wears the weansie at night when the kittens are in with her.) She has been a lot less vocal as her milk has dried up. Which isn’t to say that that she’s not still chatty – she certainly is! – but she doesn’t howl incessantly any more. She seems a lot less intense (which makes sense), and more inclined to bunny-kick her kittens than snuggle up and sleep with them.
My concern about taking off the weansie is that the kittens will try to comfort nurse, and she’ll let them. If they do it often enough, her milk will come back in and we don’t want that. (I have a feeling that she won’t let them – and she does have a safe space where she can get up away from them if she wants to – but it’s still a concern.)
(“What? Her milk will come back in?!” you might be thinking. Fun fact that I don’t think I ever shared before: remember M’Lynn? She of the not-producing-milk Magnolias from about a year ago? Well, those kittens comfort nursed on her INCESSANTLY and about a week before she went home HER MILK CAME IN. It’s not a huge stretch to think that a cat who was producing milk very recently might start producing it again.)

Alice is all “You’re not going to let those kittens run around my house, ARE you?”
She knows me too well. I’m thinking about it!

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) this weekend.
Good morning beautiful. (Sydney)
Carmy is 12 weeks old! (I really need to speak to the dry cleaner about shrinking that crown.) He weighs around 3 1/2 pounds (1.59 KG) – I haven’t weighed him today, but will do that later on.
He’s grown to be such a sweet, laid-back charmer.

Tossing toys for kittens!
It’s a Richie-Tina pie (my favorite!) and doesn’t it look HAPPY.

Richie has a purrrrrrr.
Judging by some comments, I feel like not everyone knows this: the kittens are all adoption pending – Richie & Carmy together, and Jeff & Sydney together. They’re going for their spay/neuters on November 26th, and should start heading home after that (no firm plans have been made yet.) So you get to enjoy them for a few weeks longer!
Rumor has it that Forgotten Felines of Huntsville received not one but TWO applications for Tina. Hopefully one of them will work out and she can go home soonish! (I don’t process the applications.)
Sydney is looking very “Mr. DeMille, I’m ready for my close-up” here.

Oh boy, the bakery is well-stocked today – with my favorites! A Richie loaf, a Sydney pie, and a Jeff loaf.
Kristi, who we fostered in 2018, has finally been adopted! She and her daughter Katia came to us, both very pregnant. Between them they had 10 kittens, and they co-mothered beautifully. The kittens were all adopted, but Kristi and Katia were not, and ended up going to Michelle’s for a while (Michelle is who I foster under.) Kristi was adopted briefly in 2020, but it wasn’t a good fit, so she was returned. Kristi and Katia have been at another foster’s home for a while, and last night her forever people found her! (Katia is still at the other foster’s home – she and Kristi were not a bonded pair… maybe her people will come along next!)

Tina is a cutie pie (with something to say… and a lot of purring!), and Rocco (outside) has a vole (which is a rodent similar to a mouse), and our neighbor’s cat (who we call “Chad”) is hanging out nearby.
(And yes, Fred did save that vole from Rocco.)
Line ’em up! From left: Sydney, Carmy, Richie, Jeff, and Tina. (Tina is wearing a weansie – a weaning onesie – to help her milk dry up. She only has to wear it when she’s around the kittens, so they won’t keep trying to nurse. Her milk is mostly dried up, so she should be able to go without the weansie starting in another day or two.)

Napping with purring kittens… it’s what Sunday afternoons are all about!
Good night innernets. (Sydney (top) and Jeff)

I can’t get your Amazon wish list to work . Do you still have one ?
I do! this is the link (and it’s also in the sidebar) – if that link doesn’t work for you, please let me know!
(PS: I just realized that I must have messed up the link in the sidebar when I was messing with stuff recently! It should be fixed now!)
YAY for Kristi!!!!!
So happy that Kristi’s people have come to get her! Fingers crossed for Katia.
Glad that we get to enjoy these little cuties for a few more weeks, and it is nice to know they and Tina are all spoken for.
I’m late late laaaate in commenting, eeks! Oh my goodness, your foster kitties all has a purrrrr. And yep, Tina’s still a talker, so much so that for a minute there, she’s got the chirpy purr going! <3
And eeeee squeeeeee, Kristi!!! I am *delighted* for her. My soft spot for that tortie lovebug is probably darn well known by now. Someone's family is extraordinarily lucky! May she have, and be a source of (she's got this one covered just by existing), all the love and happiness forever.
