How do you get such nice pictures of Tina? I have a black kitty and I am not a natural with picture taking, so the pictures never come out very well. Yours are gorgeous.
Thank you – I take a LOT of pictures of Tina, and a lot of them don’t come out. I figure if I take 100 pictures, ONE of them has to be pretty good. I also think that lighting helps – I have a little portable light that clips on to my cell phone, and it helps so that she’s not just a big dark blob.

Carmy and Richie have a tussle.
Sydney and Richie have a snooze.
Richie needs a snuggle, doesn’t he?
Carmy returns from a wander around the crate and checks out the milk bar situation.
Carmy and Sydney are going to team up for shenanigans in the future, I suspect.

On his way from the far end of the house to the garage, Rocco flopped down to enjoy the nice cool floor. Khal pretended he wasn’t there.

Happy Thlurrrpsday, and please notice that Tina has got the SKILLS. A++ thlurrping, Tina!
Throw Back Thursday: 2020, when little Aramis – who became the behemoth known as Uncle Charlie – put up with my shenanigans with faint amusement. (Actually, he still does.)
If you’re curious how Aramis/Charlie became a foster fail, it’s because I desperately did not want him to go to Petsmart by himself (every other kitten in his litter was adoption pending) and he’d proven himself to be very respectful of Alice, who hated (and hates) kittens. She hissed at him, and he backed right off. I made the suggestion that he become a permanent resident, and Fred agreed. (He is less respectful of Alice these days, alas, and appears to not like adult female cats at all, though most of the time he leaves her alone. He is the very best of friends with his brother Khal, gets along well with Newt, and no longer appears to 100% loathe Rocco, though I’d never leave the two of them in a room unsupervised.)

Throw Back Thursday: 10 years ago (HOLY COW) people were doing the Ice Bucket Challenge, wherein they threw buckets of ice on each or on themselves to promote awareness of/ raise funds for ALS. We did the Mice Bucket Challenge instead with good ol’ Uncle Stefan to promote awareness of the need for daily nappin’. (Uncle Stefan was the BEST)
(Chef Carmy knows that his chef hat is in desperate need of cleaning, but he’s so busy thinking up fancy dishes to serve that he hasn’t had the time to locate a lint brush.

The kittens are doing a little tussling, a little wandering around, and a lot of looking CUTE.

mice bucket challenge!!!!! so funny!!!!
Good light is the name of the game when photographing black cats. Pay attention to the quantity, direction, and color of the light – black cats photograph best in natural daylight, soft white doesn’t seem to work so well.
LOL, your shenanigans with the mouse bucket!
