A cuddle pile (and Tina’s keeping an eye on me.) Richie (left), Sydney, and Carmy. Jeff is at the milk bar.)
Sydney would like you to know that Carmy makes an excellent pillow.
It’s hard to tell from this picture, but Carmy was rolling around on his back licking his paw.

Alice spends her mornings in Fred’s recliner to catch the morning sun, and her afternoons in the dining room to catch the afternoon sun.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
I know I’ve been focusing pretty hard on Carmy, so let’s get a good look at his beautiful new mama, Tina. She’s about 1 year old, is pretty small (Huntsville Animal Services lists her weight at 6.3 pounds/2.86 kg; I have not weighed her yet, but have no reason to believe they’re wrong), has beautiful green eyes (that photograph as gold depending on the light). Her fur is very silky (with a few small missing patches; I’m sure she was loaded with fleas when HAS got her), she likes to be brushed, has the LONGEST tail, and has opinions on every little thing.
She is very protective of her kittens (all four of them!) but more in a standing-nearby-looking-worried way than a smack-the-lady-for-being-so-handsy way, which I appreciate (look, I don’t TRY to make the babies cry, but they’ve gotta get weighed!)
She is PLAYFUL – I tossed a toy across the room and she bounded after it. She likes to pull toys out of the basket, and she is partial to catnip. I don’t know if this is her first litter (at 1 year old, it could be!), but she is doing an amazing job of keeping them fed and clean.
If they’re not nursing, all 4 kittens are nearly always piled up together like this. Here we have Sydney (serving as a pillow for Carmy), Carmy (serving as a pillow for Richie), Richie, and Jeff.

Now that she (and her kittens) have been with us for several days, it’s time for an official introduction to Tina! She’s a silly, sweet, playful, talkative girl who’s doing a wonderful job taking care of her own three kittens and Carmy as well. ❤
Oh MY, is that four-kitten pie (which happens to be my favorite!)? You only get THAT in the very fanciest of restaurants! (Richie on the left, Carmy next to him, Jeff on the lower left, and Sydney checking out the pie crust (she approves!))
Good night innernets. (From left: Richie, Jeff, Sydney & Carmy.)

I do believe that Alice has just offered up the perfect retirement plan. And on cloudy/rainy days I can substitute napping with the cats. Excellent!
I’m so happy that Carmy has a furry family. Losing Natalie was hard and, even though you and Fred are wonderful foster parents, I’m sure it’s hard for a baby kitten to grow up without experiencing siblings and a mom cat.
hi tina!!! yoo r a berry good mommy!
I just saw Natalie’s picture on the right side of this blog post with the title “In Residence” and my heart broke all over again.
I know, I need to update the sidebar and will soon (I’m trying to get good pictures of each of the kittens, but I think I need to settle for “good enough for now.”)
Tina is beautiful — and such a sweet mama. I loved how she hustled right over to check out that possibly dangerous house panther in the mirror!
