This picture is from before Pita had surgery; she’s looking pretty rough right now, so there won’t be many post-surgery pictures for a few days.
Pita came through her surgery well – the vet feels good about how it went, so now we just need to hunker down and wait for her to do some serious healing. She’s on good pain meds, and they’re making her a little confused and wobbly – I have her in a large crate for now, though I keep going in and spending time with her. I would prefer it if she’d just curl up in my lap and let me pet her, but she’d much rather wobble around and look at things (I have her set up in my office) before returning to the crate. I will, of course, keep you updated with each post, but I don’t expect any big news. Healing takes time, after all.
Thank you all SO VERY MUCH for your thoughts and prayers for Pita, and your sweet supportive words to me. And THANK YOU for your donations. Her surgery and tests were covered by your donations, and any extra has gone into the Forgotten Felines emergency medical fund. I appreciate you all so much!

Meander came through her spay just fine, too! I was home with Meander by late morning, and she was a bit loopy for a few hours, but by bed time she was just happily hanging out with her kittens.
It’s a Meander-Dillydally pie! My favorite, obviously.
I don’t think the kittens really even noticed Meander was gone.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
It’s Toesday, so get a load of these beans.
We are outta here this morning – I am dropping Pita off at one vet (for her Patent Urachus surgery), and Meander is going to be spayed by the mobile vet at Michelle’s house. I expect to be home again with Meander late morning/early afternoon, and I think I’ll get to pick up Pita this afternoon. Your good thoughts aimed toward all of us today would be so much appreciated!
I’ve scheduled a few videos for later this morning so y’all don’t have to go without cute for too long – I’ll post later to let you know when the surgeries are done!

Meander’s just chilling with her kittens.
(This video was made a couple of days ago – Meander is off for her spay surgery today!)

Pita hanging out in the kitten room – doing the long march to nappin’ town, and then watching/playing with the Hopalong Gang.
(This video is from a few days ago – Pita is at the vet today for surgery to correct Patent Urachus.)
Meander is home from her spay! All went well – she’s had lunch, she’s greeted her kittens, and now she’s just hanging out staring into space. No more litters for Meander! ❤️🎉
Pita is home! She’s feeling pretty loopy and I am hoping that she’ll settle down and rest. The vet is happy with how the surgery went, so now Pita has to get to healing! She’s confined to a crate for probably a few days (depending on how she does). I am so happy to have that surgery over with! ❤️
I cannot thank you enough for your good thoughts for this sweet girl, and your donations have covered her tests and surgery (the amount raised above that will go to help replenish the Forgotten Felines emergency medical fund.) Thank you so much!!!
Good night innernets. (All the kittens (except Mosey) were sleeping in the window bed, and Meander jumped up and flopped down on top of them!)

So happy Pita is through her surgery and has you as her nurse through the recovery. I just love that little girl with the exclamation point tail. Thank you for ALL that you do for the mamas and babies and the rescue. Also thank you for sharing a bit of your world. I have been following you since the True Bloods (I think) and reading your blog every morning has helped me through some very tough times. Again – much thanks to you and to Fred.
Very relieved for Pita, and very happy for Meander, too. Let the healing commence!!!
Yay for successful surgeries!
And a reminder to all to check out 2014. One of my all-time very favorites.
