Ciabatta says “Lady, there’s a kitten in that mirror!”
Crouton, rolling around on the rug.
Pumpernickel with the seriously cute tilted head.
Babka finds that she’s a BIG fan of the sunshine.
First, Crouton bites mama’s left ear.
She takes a moment to pose for a nice picture…
The kittens are definitely having a BLAST in the foster room, and Crumpet is enjoying it, too. I thought she’d be concerned about having kittens scattered all over the place, but she seems to have hit the ::shrug:: phase of mothering. She’s become even friendlier since the move – with the kittens being 6 weeks old now, she’s probably about to go into heat. (Fortunately, the first heat cycle after kittens tends to be pretty short, so hopefully it won’t be too bad.) She’s scheduled for her spay in about three weeks, so I suspect we’ll have at least one heat cycle between now and then.

The magnificent Khal and yes, indeed, I did say “Oooh, big stretch!”, as is legally required.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
The Crumbs are 6 weeks old as of yesterday, and this is what they look like now!
Weight-wise, they’re doing great (weight chart is here). Ciabatta has been the heaviest kitten for most of the 6 weeks, but now Pumpernickel is in the lead, followed by Ciabatta, and Pita isn’t far behind. (Crouton’s the peanut of the bunch.) They’ve hit all their milestones – using the litter boxes, eating solid food, skitterbugging and hippity-hopping. Climbing like monkeys. They’re doing great!
Former foster update! In 2020 we fostered this little floofmuffin as one of the Mewsketeers litter. Her name was Winter then; she’s now Luna, and look at that gorgeous floof!
(Thanks, Nicole!)

The Crumbs are having a skitterbug and hippity hops and running running running kind of day!
Good night innernets. (Pumpernickel & Ciabatta – and behind them, Crumpet and Pita)

Can I ask a question of the other fans of this site…. my colleague knows that daily I have my ‘kitten check in time!’ mid-morning during work, and she’s jealous because although she loves kittens her heart is really with dogs and puppies. Do any of your know a puppy/dog blog that’s anything like this one, that I could recommend to her??
I don’t know of a *blog,* per se, but if your friend doesn’t already know about it, there’s a gal who is a Canadian animal groomer and posts frequent videos of sessions with her clients on YouTube, so mainly dogs but with a sprinkle of cats and occasionally other animals. She has a dry, deadpan wit somewhat akin to Robyn’s so her stuff is generally pretty entertaining, even if you’re not a huge dog lover. But she also clearly loves animals and has a great talent for working with them, even those who might be classed as “difficult” because of trauma, age/medical problems, or behavior issues. In fact, she does many free grooms for shelter dogs in her area (to help boost their chances of finding a forever home) and also frequently takes on clients who have been turned away by other groomers for one reason or another–often with what I would call astonishing success.
Anyway, her short-form channel (vids are usually 5-10 minutes long) is here: https://www.youtube.com/@GirlWithTheDogs
And the second, longer-form channel (vids can be anywhere from 15-30 minutes long) is here: https://www.youtube.com/@girlwiththedogs212
She also has the usual social media pages (TikTok, FB, Instagram) and her own website at https://www.girlwiththedogs.com, though I’ve only seen her YouTube stuff.
Ah yes she’s great – thank you very much for the recommendation! I’ll pass that one, maybe she can scroll through the latest shorts with her cup of tea in break time!
Not a blog but a page I follow that has both dogs and kittens- look up Bordernerd- it’s great!
Oh thank you very much! we will check that out!
