A visit from Uncle Charlie.
Louie was NOT sure what to think when he spotted Uncle Charlie.
But he went over to check him out, and so did Huey.
Then Uncle Charlie walked across the room to say hi to Dewey, and Dewey hissed.
Dewey floofed, and he and Louie watched Uncle Charlie.
I 100% thought he was going to hiss at Mirror Dewey, but he did not.
Huey and Charlie sniffed noses (please note that Huey’s tail is up in a friendly, relaxed way.)
Then Louie and Charlie sniffed noses. (Louie’s not quite as relaxed as Huey, but he’s curious and mostly relaxed.)
Dewey kept a close eye on Charlie, while still floofed.
Charlie left the room, and Dewey gave me the “I can’t believe you let that happen” side eye, while Louie and Huey went back to playing.
Dewey relaxed after a while and then (I am pretty sure) forgot there’d ever been a stranger visiting the room. I wonder how he’ll be NEXT time Charlie wants to visit?

Crumpet and her sweet little family are doing well.
These kittens are constantly eating and while it doesn’t always make for the best pictures or videos, it is very sweet. They’ll be toddling around soon enough (and hopefully by then Crumpet will have decided to move them to the crate.)
Crumpet went to eat, and the kittens piled up.
I have names for the kittens, but haven’t decided yet who’s who. I’m hoping to do that today. I’m also trying to decide whether to put collars on them for the time being, until I can tell them apart (which will make weighing them faster and less stressful for Crumpet and also me), but haven’t decided for sure about that, either.

Khal went for his dental cleaning yesterday, and his teeth were in good shape – no extractions, no inflammation. Since he was under for his cleaning anyway, we asked them to check his bloodwork and make sure everything is well, and it is. He’s a healthy boy! And he’s already forgiven us for putting him through that, because he’s such a lovebug.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
Huey and Louie would like breakfast in bed, if y’don’t mind.

The Duckling kittens are having so much fun in the foster room. I love seeing them race around!
Here are pictures of their faces! We’ve got two boys and three girls. #1 & #3 are both tabbies, and I’m having the hardest time telling them apart even though one is a boy and one is a girl. The other three are going to be easy, though – #2 has dots on either side of her nose, #5 has a bunch of smudges around his nose, and #4 has a fashionable hairdo that’s looks like it’s shaved on one side – if you look back at the kitten pie picture I posted this morning, she’s the mostly white one with the dot on her back, and the mullet with a chunk taken out of the side. (I’ve got the names chosen but haven’t decided who’s who. I’ll post face and body pics of each once I do – probably tomorrow.)

At this age they basically do nothing but eat and sleep (and occasionally fight each other for the best spot), so here’s two minutes of Crumpet’s Crumbs at the milk bar.
It’s Toesday, so please admire Huey’s little pink beans.
Good night innernets. (Crumpet & the Crumbs)

I’m glad your new brood seems to be doing well, and I hope you get a chance to relax, and take it easier. So keep up the good work!
One little quibble: can you make the moon icon on the website a little smaller? I’ve show this site to my friend (who has vision problems) on a big screen, and it seems huge and distracting….
Jack, I made the icon much smaller and made it so it wouldn’t wobble (I’m not sure why it was wobbling, it must be a default). Let me know if that’s any better (you might need to refresh a few times.)
Good job Lewy and Huey!!! Come on Dewy! Put your big boy pants on cuz there is a good chance you will be meeting a number of strangers in the future. BUT, mercy, you are adorable!!!!
Do you think Crumpet has had other litters, or is she just an especially laid back girl? She seemed to have such an easy delivery and is so relaxed with her new babies, and knows just what to do to care for them and keep them all content. Such a nice cat!
I’m pretty sure she’s had kittens before – we think she’s about 2 years old, so I would be very surprised if this was her first litter. She is a VERY competent mama!
Every time I read “Crumpet and the Crumbs”, I read it in song to the melody of “Bennie and the Jets”…lol, just wanted to share!
Ha!
Remembering back to when Khal arrived. I never expected to hear you refer to him as a lovebug!
Oh, I know – I remember all the time I spent having to hide behind Fred to even pet him – and now he jumps up on me and demands that I pet him. He’s downright needy!
He hissed at the wall,
He hissed at the floor,
He hissed at his brother,
Then hissed some more.
“I’m just a hissy fit floofer,
‘Cause I can’t roar!”
LOL
Purrfect!!!
Ha – I love it!!!
Dewey is the protector of the realm!
LOL, Dewey is an equal opportunity hisser, nobody is safe from his hisses. He has an impressive floof suit. I’m sure we will be seeing more of Dewey and his poofy floof suit when Unca Charlie comes to visit.
