Time to let me know if you want a holiday card, with this year’s featured Crooked Acre permanent resident! Go here to Postable, enter your name and address, and your card will be on the way soon. I am happy to send cards to other countries, this is NOT limited to U.S. residents. If you have any problems, drop me an email and I’ll do my best to fix it. I’ll take names and addresses until December 20th.
If you’d like to send me a card as well (never ever required, but always appreciated – I don’t keep track of who does or doesn’t send a card, I promise!), send it to:

(PS: If that link doesn’t work for you, or you prefer not to enter your info (I delete your name and address once I’ve downloaded it), you can email me instead.)

Thank you all so much for your sweet comments about Dewey; I hope you know how very much I appreciate y’all.
The other cats aren’t really reacting to his absence, but I think they knew what was going on – cats always know before we do, it seems.

Ouiser’s tiny mouth reminds me of Kitten Lady’s late beloved Eloise. (Twitter, Instagram)
When I said “What doin’, Clairee?” she said “Lying in my hammock, OBVIOUSLY.”
Drum, Clairee and Ouiser at the top of the cat tree – and if you look in the lower right corner of the picture, you can see Shelby hanging out on the smaller cat tree. She hasn’t yet attempted the climb to the top of the tree… but it’s coming!
“It’s kinda high, and I am little, lady.”
“Come on Shelby, you can do it!” bellows Clairee. (But Shelby did not give it a try.)
Oh, that gorgeous, gorgeous M’Lynn.
Clairee in the sun, havin’ a think.
Shelby was up on the couch, and she could see Clairee, on the floor. So she semi-floofed and walked back and forth and I waited for her to jump down on Clairee… but she did not.
So, I have good news! Last Friday, the kitten room had visitors. And…
M’LYNN IS NOW ADOPTION PENDING!
She won’t go home ’til mid-December, but I always like it when our mamas are adopted first. She’ll have a 3 year old kitty to be friends with, and she will be so very loved. She’s going locally, and I’ll be delivering her myself. I am so excited for her and for her new family!

Khal’s curled up in the Trader Joe’s basket, but he’s not sure he likes it.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
We have a former foster update! Back in 2016 we had gray and white mama Regina Phalange and her 6 kittens, boys: Art Vandelay, Bert Macklin and Ken Adams; girls: Chanandler Bong, Princess Consuela and Susie. Regina Phalange was adopted and renamed Marie, and this is what she looks like now, with her very best friend Bear.
Jessica says: “I adopted Regina, now Marie. She bonded very closely to the other kitty we had. That kitty was VERY bonded to my ex-husband. I left him a couple of years ago and knew the pair needed to stay together, which meant leaving my Marie behind. When we were still in connection he said she was thriving and even got along super well with his new partner. I miss her and it is the hardest decision I have ever had to make, but I know she’s living her best life.”
“She got a little chunky [but is a] healthy weight! She loves kissing on the mouth (she really just sniffs your lips, but I’m counting it). She’s also very talkative if the most pristine little squeaks. She can carry on a full conversation with you. She likes to drag her babies (toys) around the house and does a momma cry until they’re all bundled together near you. She’s also an insane fighter, not like a lot of other house cats. Girly knows how to kill.”
Thank you Jessica!!
Drum, Ouiser and Clairee enjoy the sun. 🌞

Drum is having a goood time playing by himself. He is just such a little nut!

Is it time for a slow-motion kitten video? Of course it is! In this video, we’ve got Ouiser hanging out in the basket, then Clairee races over and Ouiser POPS! up in the air.

Shelby’s not ready to run with the big dogs – er, kittens – just yet, but she when she is… they better watch OUT.
Good night innernets. (Shelby) (Side note: Clairee was actually in the crate with her when I walked into the room, but she left the crate to see if perhaps it was time to eat (it was not) and Shelby stayed where she was ’cause there’s a heated bed in there.)

Dewey was so beautiful.
Take it slow on yourselves, grief is hard. Xx
My cat Nacho’s got a particular thing he does when you rub his chin. He scrunches his nose and gets this little crease alongside it that just cracks me and my kids up for some reason. He only does it when you rub his chin. He raises up his chin and closes his eyes… then bam, nose crease! It’s adorable to me.
That sounds so cute!
I love foster updates.
A chunky but not obsese kitty is a contented kitty.
Exactly! 🙂
