That bed or chair or what’s-it Kirk is in — I haven’t seen it here before, can you please post the brand? I’ve been looking for a small off-the-floor bed so my cats can sleep in my office without fear of passing feet.
That is the Furrytail BOSS Elevated Cat Bed (it was passed along to us by a local supporter whose cats wouldn’t use it. The kittens love it!)

Has Alice continued to be more sociable now that there are fewer big brothers around, or has Dewey, Charlie, and/or Khal (not grampa Newt, surely!) filled Archie’s/Jakes’s shoes, so to speak? Or has she, unrelated to the boys, just becoming more Poo/Maxi/Kara-like (dare I say, Stinkerbellish?) and wishes she were an only?
It is Alice’s unending hope to one day be an only cat, and to also never have to see another kitten, and I can’t imagine that changing. She is all about her people (if Fred is not present, I am (grudgingly) acceptable) and while she mostly tolerates her brothers she wouldn’t shed a tear if they disappeared into another dimension. (She’d be happy if all other cats on the planet disappeared, probably.)
All four of the boys coexist perfectly fine – Newt and Dewey never seek the others out, but are okay with having them nearby – and I would really only call Charlie and Khal friends who play and hang out. Jake was a total cat’s cat who loved other cats, and so far none of the others have filled that role.

I hope Kirk is going to a home with other kitties too!
and
I was wondering too if there was another kitty where Kirk will be going. I really hope so. He is such a social little boy!!
Yes, there’s a 1 year old cat and an older cat. Forgotten Felines wouldn’t adopt a single kitten into a home where there isn’t another kitty in residence. Kittens without another kitten/cat to play with get bored very quickly, tend to be destructive, and are very often returned as soon as they’ve outgrown their cute-kitten stage. (And interestingly, if I had had to pick one Trekkling to go home without a sibling, it would have been Kirk. I think he’s going to be just fine and will make friends quickly.)

Thank you for always bringing smiles to my day. How do Rocco and Trixie get in and out of your yard with the fencing?
Trixie and Rocco don’t go in and out of the back yard, they mostly hang out in the front yard (where there’s no fence) and on the front porch.

Robyn, what does it look like when you say Uhura is frustrated with the kittens? Avoidance? Swatting? Just curious. I would imagine as they are older now she would want to cut those apron strings!
Hissing and swatting at them (sometimes growling), and hiding from them. I did give her occasional breaks from them in another room, but wasn’t able to give her as much time away as I’d have liked.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So happy to see Uhura get adopted first and without a stay at Pet Smart. It seemed to me that Uhura spent more time on the floor with her kittens even when they got older versus your past mamas. I was under the impression that the mamas always tried to find the highest spots to get away from their kittens once they were a certain age. Did it seem that way to you?
No, she spent plenty of time up away from them (or hiding from them in various spots), I just didn’t take as many pictures of her in her hidey holes. 🙂
Line ’em up! I love that they’re at the age where they’ll line up so perfectly for me. (From left: Janeway, Troi, Kirk, Spock and Kes)
Little slackers. Sometimes nap time ends for me, but it continues on for them.
Janeway is so annoyed with me. “LADY! Stop takin’ pictures and give us our Churu!”
Her pouty little face kills me.
Kes is all “LADY. Get Mister Frog outta my chair, now!”
Kes supervises Spock’s climb up the scratcher.
The kittens are now allowed downstairs during the day if they want. They haven’t ventured down much, but when Janeway did…
She donned her floof suit for the occasion.
Kes checks out the view from on high.
It’s been a couple of days since I opened the door at the top of the stairs, and they generally come down for a few minutes, race around, and then run back upstairs. That’s pretty normal, and I’m sure over the next few days they’ll venture downstairs more. I’ll be on the lookout for them to have encounters with the permanent residents!
A sign that winter is coming: Charlie in his big comfy bed, instead of outside in the back yard.
Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
Another Thlurrrpsday, another quadruple thlurrrp situation. This week, Troi is the holdout who’s refusing to show off her skills. (From left: Kirk, Troi, Spock, Kes & Janeway.)
Throw Back Thursday: This blog post is from 2006, written from the perspective of (permanent resident) Mister Boogers to the readers who kept insisting we keep our first bottle baby kitten Maddy.
Dear Peoples of the internet Readers:
I hates you, this is true. I hates you because you does never send me the tasty treats or the fuzzy toys or the warm and snuggly beds (except for The Nance and The Rick, who sent to me the snuggly bed and the warm bed that The Momma thinks is for her feets, and she is WRONG, and you are excused from the hatin’.).
I hates the rest of yous because you is always all “Oooh, look at the cute kitten! Look at how cute, the kitten! Look how sweet and cute the kitten! You should keep the kitten!” NO WE SHOULD NOT KEEPS THE KITTEN! The stinkin’ kitten is not so cute! Especially when the stinkin’ kitten jabs you in the nostrils with her sharp little claws and you spends an hour sneezing while The Momma and The Daddy laugh at your sneezin’ face!
I hates you because you is all “Oh, the kitten! The kitten! Blah the kitten!” and you is never “The Booger! What a fine and magnificent, powerful creature is The Booger! The Booger is the most beautiful animal in the world!” Maybe you thinks The Booger knows this, which The Booger DOES, but despite his resemblance to a God, The Booger is only feline. The Booger needs to hear it sometimes!
So stop asking why, you stinkin’ peoples. I hates you and you and YOU.
xoxo,
Monsieur Boogair
This is what Churu time looks like every evening, and this is how I get those lined-up pictures. (This video is ridiculously long and filled with a lot of me babbling and pointing the camera everywhere but at the kittens, so if it’s not your thing, you are free to go.)
Throw Back Thursday: When I posted the picture of Troi in the top of the tunnel bed earlier this week, Amy pointed out that she looked a LOT like former foster (2009!) Beulah in her “space ship” track toy.
Who flew it better? 😉👽️
Nap time makes these kittens happy and SUPER purr-y. (And I am not complaining about that.)
Kes is just SO SO CUTE with her serious little face and her floofy floofy tail.
Good night innernets. (Kes, Troi, Janeway and Spock. Kirk is elsewhere doing Kirk things.)
I swear every litter you foster is cuter than the previous one, and make me want to adopt a pair or three kittens, but my 18 1/2 year old tabby thinks otherwise! Has there ever been a time when there were no kittens or pregnant mamas for you to take in following the adoption of your current fosters? It seems like you always have a steady stream coming in. I know when I adopted my current kitty 18 1/2 years ago, believe it or not there was a shortage of kittens available to adopt and I had to travel a bit to adopt from a rescue.
Woohoo!!! Charlie and his magic toe proudly displayed for the peoples of the interwebs to admire!! LOL
Monsieur Boogair’s letter to the peoples of the internet is hilarious!! (I luv your sense of humor, a tad sarcastic and irreverent, I can relate.)
Janeway’s meerkat impression is PURRFECT!! One would never know she really is a spoiled kitten at Miss Robyn’s Finishing School for Kittens. Well done Janeway!!
Kirk is indeed a Churu hog!! They have you well-trained for Churu time, great job kittens. LOL
Impressive floof suit on Janeway.
I crack up everytime you call them “slackers”.
They are total slackers, and they need to get a JOB. 🙂
Thanks again — I searched for a half hour on Amazon and the Internetz and couldn’t even get a photo that looked like that bed. It figures Amazon had it all along 😉
