Though these pictures won’t show it, I can report to you that we’ve started to break the kittens down. Last night Fred got serious about petting them, and Delmar (the brown tabby) finally broke down and started to respond. First he moved his head for better petting access. And then he started arching his back to meet Fred’s hand. Lastly, he gave us the purr.
Honestly, it happened faster than I expected!
Marion, the Torbie, is a hissy little thing, but though she hisses and hisses, she never smacks, so that’s a good thing. Once you get serious about petting her, she stops hissing. It’s like hissing is just her usual way of greeting us. Some cats meow, Marion hisses.
This morning I went and got down on the floor with some pillows and read for an hour, completely ignoring them like “Kittens? What kittens?” and every time I glanced over at the cat tree, someone would be staring at me like “I don’t know what your game is, but I’ll figure it out!”
Before I left the room I spent some serious time petting them all and again Delmar and Marion were most responsive to being petted, but even Lem starting liking it. Claudette’s going to be a tough nut to crack, but I suspect we’ll crack her.
These are such gorgeous little kittens that I just want to pick them up and squeeze them. Fred picked up Delmar last night, but I’m going to give it a few more days before I try to pick them up and snuggle them. We’ve got plenty of time, after all.
Left to right: Delmar, Marion, Lem.
Marion, the torbie of hissiness.
Claudette, the scaredest little monkey.
Lem hides amongst his sisters.
Marion does not appreciate me.

They are so gorgeous! I want to come over, bring my pillows and a book and sit in the kitteh room and pretend I don’t want to snuggle them to death.
Wow, such cuties. they are all eyes. The one picture of all 4 is like a laser vision ad. I’ll take the under and say they are climbing all over you by this time next week.
Delmar! Hee! I love that name. They’re all ridiculusly cute, I don’t know how you get anything done.
