If you look closely, you’ll see that The Loony One has his fangs on display.
Frankie in one corner, on the platform over Fred’s recliner, obviously thinking about jumping.
And Dewey in the other corner, wondering if he could jump from there and land on the TV. (Luckily, he opted for the steps instead.)

“I don’t always cram myself into the smallest possible box…”
“Oh, wait. Yes I do. Nevermind.”
Newt believes in expanding to fill the space he’s in.
(This picture and the previous were taken when we were in the height of decluttering, and in this house, before something is put away or tossed, it tends to live on the dining room table for a while, thus all the clutter around Newt. Newt, you’ll be pleased to hear, was part of the clutter we opted to keep.)

I am back from my road trip to New Orleans with my sister. We had a LOT of fun and I took a million pictures (which I will share at a later date).
I already miss my sister; we had a lot of fun (it’s impossible not to have fun with Debbie.)
Now we’re back to regular ol’ life.
So ladies and gentlemen, say hello to Nola.
She’s very sweet, she’s very nervous, and she’s got passengers.
More about her tomorrow.

Uh-oh….. lots of passengers, says that belly!!
Welcome, Nola! You won the kitty Lottery being fostered and giving birth in this house 😀
Yea! Babies on board:-) We’ve been in a long drought and I’m sure we are all looking forward to seeing babies again!!! Pretty Nola landed in the “purr-fect” home.
Woo hoo! Hooray for passengers!
Well hello-o-o-, Nola! You are beautiful and we can’t wait to meet your wee ones that will be coming along!
Robyn, so glad to hear that you had a great vacation with your sister! 🙂
Are you SURE Nola is really pregnant?
Her name was Nola, she was a showgirl…
And thank you for that earworm! LOL!
I sing that song to my cat Lola.
She is a stunner! And YAY babies!
I for one am glad that Newt was part of the clutter you opted to keep.
Hi Nola! When are you dropping off those passengers for us and the Lady?
Speaking of earworms…
Now I need to google Iggy Pop this afternoon. “And I ride and I ride…”
Oh, what a beautiful Nola!
So I started reading the post thinking “Wait – Robyn had her trip with her sister…didn’t she say there would be a new foster when she returned?” Then I got caught up with the great pictures of the permanent guys…and was surprised to meet Nola! She is adorable- You got your preggers momcat – yay! Can’t wait to see the babies!
And she’s gorgeous.
Oh, Yay!! Kittens! and such a pretty momma. I’m thinking she will relax with all the TLC she will be receiving there…
and I had to smile: “she has passengers” and then the blog entry for today in 2015 has to do with not fitting on a (Jet)Blue!!
Did you bring Nola back with you across state lines or is the name a coincidence? lol
(In case anyone doesn’t know what I mean: New Orleans, LA = NOLA)
I can just picture you saving a poor homeless kitty you ran into in the French Quarter or something. 😀
I’m hoping this also means a naming theme to include things like Bayou or Lafayette or Bourbon!
Also, is it wrong that I’m now picturing mama Nola and her bebbehs all talkin’ to The Lady with cajun accents, lol.
Oooh – I love the cajun accent idea!!!
I was thinking NOLA also. I love the idea of the accent. I used to tell people the cats I got in Australia had an accent. Some people even believed me. Suckas!
I too have a feeling that Nola was a fugitive (LOL)!
I however, thought of abbreviation names rather than LA names.
So things like Cali(short for California), DC (District of Columbia), OR things like Lola (Laughing out Loud ALOT), Froyo (frozen yogurt). They could also be rhyming with Nola and thus be Lola, Kola, Corolla, Granola. <um okay maybe not this theme. 🙁
This post started with my very favorite random banner (Hugs! from Rickles) and ended with great news with a whole lot of cute in-between. Glad you enjoyed your trip. Welcome back! Welcome Nola-may your delivery be The Big Easy.
glad you had a great time with your sis. I learned over the weekend that there is a woman in Indy who is now fostering due to having been introduced to your blog years ago. I don’t think you have any idea how you have influenced good works by other people. You and Fred had made such a difference in this world and your example has motivated so many others to do good works too. Thank you.
we were wondering when you would get back on the baby wagon 🙂 Glad you had a fun trip
I was just wondering a few days ago how much longer could you go without babies. I then started to wo der if you secretly bought a new hoyse and fostering was on hold for awhile.
So glad you’re back but even happier you had such a great trip! Even more happy (purely selfish of me, I know!) to meet sweet Nola!!!! I know there’s still time, but am excited for the naming possibilities… will it be NOLA inspired? Will we be introduced to little Beignet? Possibly Krewe? a Saint? Little Jazz? Tulane? Or, because I’m always hungry… a little étouffée, jambalaya, or gumbo? Whatever the naming convention – I cannot wait for kittehs! Nola is beautiful! Glad you’re back!
lol… I’m always fond of FOOD names for kitties so I think that would be superfun!
Glad everyone survived your absence, and I can’t wait to see the photos from your trip, not to mention these babies. Whatever may have happened to Nola in the past, she’s now en route to health and happiness. And because she’s at Crooked Acres, loads of fun and love.
So many possibilities with NOLA names!
Kittens!!!!!!! Squeeeeeeeee!!! She is gorge and better not be a faker! 🙂 my vicarious kitten experience is wanting!
And in other news… when I read the caption of Newt in the box “I don’t always cram myself into the smallest box possible.”, as I scrolled, I fully expected to read the next caption as something like… “But when I do it’s to strike a handsome, debonair pose and make the girls all want me.”, because that second pic of him shows such a smarmy young man! You likely would be more clever… but I say, there is nothing more adorable than a cat possessing a box-too-small… cute! Mornin’!
NOLA!! I’m late to the party with the naming suggestions but am in love with Nola and her soon-to-be-seen (I HOPE!) kittehs! What an excellent end to a vacation!
Is this the momma cat that Forgotten Felines posted about last week? I thought of you! Lucky kitty!
It is!! Gorgeous girl, isn’t she?! Can’t wait to meet her babies!
I bet Nola’s got really soft fur.
So what are you going to name the kittens? After Mardi Gras Krewes? New Orleans chefs or Treme characters? Famous NO real life figures? Let’s hope mama has her babies before that poor April creature. She’s already a month overdue, Caesarian anyone?
Nola looks like the mama kitty from Forgotten Felines. Beautiful girl!
Because I used to read Anne Rice, when I think of New Orleans, I immediately think vampires. How about Lestat, Armand, Claudia or go the Buffy route with Spike, Angel Drusilla? LOL, just kidding…but a teeny buff colored kitten named Spike would be hilarious.
I like the vampire names….hey they do have little fangs!
I like the idea of vampire names! Hey, they do have little fangs!
Nice to meet you, Nola! No need to be nervous; you’re really in the best possible place for a lady cat in your condition.
Awww, you finally got your pregnant kitty – and I see she is the beautiful girl that was posted on Forgotten Feline’s FB page a few weeks ago! Coincidence that she looks so much like Willa, isn’t it? What gorgeous babies she’s going to have.
Y’know, Frankie must REALLY be feeling better if he’s up high, looking down and judging everyone.
I would like a bowl of Loony with a side order of Fangs, please 😉
Your boys are so handsome <3 and Nola is a very pretty mama 🙂
She is beautiful! You get the prettiest moms.
Another tortie! This seems to be the spring of torties on the kitty blogs I follow. Nola is beautiful. I know the kittens will be as well.
Nice Pizza 🙂
Congrats on the kitty. I hope she’s not fakin!
