The kittens turned 7 weeks old yesterday. I didn’t take special pictures of them for their 7-week portraits, but I do have some then-and-now comparison pictures.
This first set of pictures is from one month ago, when the kittens were 18 days old and still living in the crate with their mama.
Chanandler Bong resting on Regina’s hip is just killing me dead. Look at that little face!
The propped-up foot kills me dead.
I mean, seriously, can you even?
And here they are now (well, a few days ago).
I was in the kitten room hanging out, and Regina flopped down and was immediately beset by kittens looking to nurse.
Chanandler Bong and Art Vandelay were hanging out in my lap, and they got suspicious. “We hears the sound of nursing, lady!”
They vacated my lap post-haste.
Chanandler climbed right in, while Art waited his turn.
All six kittens, all bellied up. I’m not sure they’re going to be able to do that for much longer.
Yesterday, I took Regina, Chanandler, and Ken to the vet. Regina’s ears have been bothering her a little despite being treated for ear mites and cleaned a couple of times, and Chanandler’s eyes have been a little goopy. Then on Sunday I walked into the room and Ken’s right eye was pretty much swollen closed and goopy. I put ointment in his eye Sunday and yesterday and it looks much better than it did, but I figured I might as well make a trip to the vet for all three of them rather than putting it off.
After some examination, the vet told me to keep Chanandler and Ken on ointment, and gave me drops for Regina’s ears (she didn’t have mites, but the vet saw a little yeast in her ears).
The kittens were so calm about being handled by complete strangers that the vet took their temperatures to make sure they weren’t sick. (Both kittens had normal temps.)
Chanandler weighed in at 1 1/2 pounds, and Ken at just over 2 pounds. Regina now weighs 8 1/2 pounds, and that’s when I realized that she’s no longer skin and bones. I mean, she’s not fat – but despite the fact that the kittens are still nursing, she’s managed to put on some weight. Yay!

Videos! In the first, Chanandler Bong is considering jumping from the top of the cat tree to the wall basket, and I seem to have reached shenanigan overload.
And in the second, Ken Adams is working on his Skitterbugging 101 skillz.

Skitterbugging.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHlguhVH-f0
see, this is what happens when you make happy well adjusted kittens… it confuses the carp out of vets who only see freaked out ones.
Newtles looks so very plush and soft in that picture!
That’s some serious skitterbugging and prancing Mr. Adams!!!
Newt has such pretty eyes…
In the 3rd and 4th picture of the little jelly-filled donuts in the crate, the guys in the back look itty bitty when compared to the ones hanging out in the front!
