Miss Maura is doing well in her new home with Kathy in Birmingham!
Poor Kathy got to see first-hand what Maura is like when you try to do something to her she doesn’t like. That cat is one of the hardest cats we’ve ever had to pill – and it’s stunning to see Miss Quiet and Laid-back fight for her life when you’re trying to pill her. She might be quiet, but she knows how to stand up for herself!
Things have cleared up for her, so now she’s been let out to explore the house and meet her brother Beau. Kathy said that Maura is submissive, but stands her ground. Beau gets all wound up, then runs away. I suspect that as a little time passes, Beau and Maura will ultimately be good friends.

This is Bolitar. Doesn’t he look like his name should be “Buster”? He totally looks like a Buster to me.

When Kathy came to get Maura, she traded this cat bed for Maura’s favorite cat bed (so Maura would have her bed and not feel nervous in her new home), and I left it on the table – temporarily, I thought, ’til I could decide where to put it. Miz Poo located it, and declared it hers. I guess that’s where the bed will stay!

Oh I can sympathize about the pilling. I can’t even give one of the cats a liquid without a huge fight. This week I checked into getting an ear gel from a compounding pharmacy – and it is so nice and easy to do! It is something you might want to let Maura’s new mom know about in case she needs to pill in the future. Not all meds can be done that way but if it can it makes life so much easier.
The Bookworms are so cute! And what is up with Busters (see I like it too) ear – he must like it back like that (I know it drives my cats nuts when that happens).
We have a table bed at our house too – ours was also temporary, in theory. Miz Poo really seems to like that one a lot!
Awww Maura!! Good to see her though – she’s looking lovely!
Bolitar and his upturned ear is just gorgeous!!!!! And the rest of the Bookworms are so cute together like that!!! But they do look like a mean kitty gang, don’t they?!?!
Great that Miz Poo has found a home for her bed!
Take care

Bolitar’s ear flip is hilarious! Dega, one of the older kittens I fostered at the end of 2008 did the ear flip all the time. Signature thing for him.
They’re such boys. Definitely a Buster!!!
And Miz Poo located the bed, and declared it hers, and it was good. Verily, I say unto thee.
So glad to read that Maura and Kathy are doing well together. The pilling and ear flips and Miz Poo’s take-over all made me smile!!
Robyn, thanks so much for stopping by and lending your support to Whiskey, Joy, Jim and Jess. They appreciated it very much. No news today – I suspect everyone is resting after the ordeal.
Hugs’n’headbutts,
Lisa
I love how you end the posts with snaps of your house cats, it’s good to se them. And the cuteness of the bookworms can only be stated so many times, surely???? Still, cuteness is as cuteness does. And yay for Maura.
