NOTE REGARDING AMAZON: Amazon has been a bit of a pain lately in that they’re either not including a gift receipt with items bought off of our wish list (so I don’t have any idea who purchased/sent it) OR it’s not showing a “thank the sender” option anymore when I scan the QR code on the gift receipt. Appeals to Amazon for assistance have gotten me nowhere at all.
So if YOU have sent something off of the Love & Hisses wish list recently and did NOT receive a thank you, please please email me – mizrobyn (at) gmail.com – so that I can thank you. I don’t know if Amazon is doing away with the wish lists and going to registry/gift lifts option instead, or what exactly is going on there, but it’s ANNOYINGGGGG ME. (And if anyone has any insight into WHAT is going on and why this is happening, I’m all ears!)

I love it when one of the kittens (okay, at this point it’s usually Carmy) is acting up and Tina gives me this “I blame you” face. Trust me: she was purring and giving me the Love Eyes the entire time.
Sydney says “What’s going on over THERE?!”
Richie says “I sees you, lady.”
Look at Carmy’s tail with the little curl on the end. SO CUTE.
Jeff’s on high alert (looking at his mama!)
Have you heard that Tina’s a bit of a talker? True story!
Carmy gives Richie the ol’ chomperoo.
Jeff wishes his pillow would stop moving.
Carmy shows off his toes and striped belly and a little bit of attitude.
“Lady!” says Richie. “I gots these pointy things on my toes!” (I love Sydney’s wide-eyed look of amazement.)
If Richie had been out from behind Jeff, this would have been a perfect pic of the four kittens. Oh WELL, better luck next time, I guess. From left: Carmy, Jeff, Richie (peeking out from behind Jeff) and Sydney.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
Carmy is 3 weeks old today! He weighs 13.7 ounces/388.39 grams as of last night. There was a bit of a slowdown in his weight gain in the last week, so I am supplementing him with formula several times a day, which is helping. (Tina gets his leftovers – that girl is a huge fan of kitten formula, though I have to water it down a lot because too much formula does not make her digestive system happy.)
I’m not sure why the slowdown in his weight gain – he’s nursing frequently, and the other three kittens are gaining just fine. I don’t think it’s a problem AT ALL, just something to keep an eye on. (Not the first time I’ve had a kitten who wasn’t gaining as quickly as I’d like, and I’m certain it won’t be the last.)
He hasn’t tried to leave the crate yet – that I’ve seen! – but he spends plenty of time looking out the front, so I’m sure it won’t be long. If he hasn’t left the crate by the end of the weekend, I may turn the crate around and open the side, which is a bit lower. Not that I’m desperate for him to leave the crate, but usually kittens start using the litter box just before the 4 week point, so I want to make that part of it a bit easier!
We have a Meander update! Sharon says: Things are going well and we enjoy having her as part of our household. She’s Meander, not Willow – the look I got when I used ‘Willow’ was right up there with the ‘don’t put me back in that room with those babies’ look, I think. Meander she is and Meander she will remain. Things were a bit more difficult at introduction time, as Angus acted like a Mafia hood and hissed. Meander gives as good as she gets, so she hissed back at both Angus and Mollie. Angus has since mended fences with Meander and they sleep butt to butt, but Mollie is not so forgiving and Meander seems to be good at holding a grudge. Things improve a bit everyday, though, so I think they’re on a good path to be friends at some point.
A couple fun things about Meander – she adores playing with all the toys in the toy basket. She plays hard with them at night – every morning we wake up to an empty toy basket and toys strewn through the bedroom and the hallway. She has an alter ego, too – she is The Toemonster after lights out. She leaps on our toes, chewing and biting, then moves up to our thighs and chests. She quiets down after a bit and will accept some petting. She does not like being picked up, though, which doesn’t surprise me, so we don’t do that. She’s a pistol!
What a wonderful update – thank you Sharon! ❤️

Tina went into the crate to feed the kittens, but they were so busy rolling around and playing that they totally ignored her. The NERVE.
Carmy sure does love Tina, and I sure love seeing the interaction between them (that last picture on the lower right cracks me UP because he’s been playing a lot more recently, and I’m not sure she approves.)

Carmy goes for a bit of a wander before returning to the milk bar and joining his siblings.
Good night innernets. (From top: Jeff, Sydney, Carmy and Richie)
Jeff says “Holy moly, chef, you weren’t kidding! There’s a whole world out there!”
Carmy says “Told you.”
Tina says “You’re not going to wake up the babies, are you? ARE YOU?”
No chef!

The milk bar is hoppin’!

A random collage of the kittens, a really good picture of Tina (it’s hard NOT to take a good picture of that girl), and a family shot. (I updated the sidebar and foster page on the blog, and these were some of the pictures I used.)

Dispatch from the crate o’ kittens: he kittens are wandering around the crate, tussling with each other, and keeping an eye on me… ’cause someone’s gotta.
“Just ignore her. She’ll eventually go away.”

At least once a day, Tina is baffled by the fact that she can see and hear her kittens through the mesh side of the crate, but can’t actually get into the crate that way. That girl cracks me UP.

It looks like the kittens are settling down for a nap – Carmy’s cleaning his paw (awww!) and Jeff’s looking for a comfy place to rest his little head.
Good night innernets. (Sydney (left front), Richie (behind her), Jeff (with his head behind Richie) and Carmy (right))

In her defense, Carmy IS sort of your fault 🙂
You have a point!
Sydney has serious supermodel potential.
Meander can call herself anything she wants, its not going to change the fact that she’s soft and beautiful
