Petey, “nursing” on the cat bed. How I have not squeezed him to death when he does this, I don’t know. It’s SO sweet.
Joe Pickle is telling Fred a secret. Fred wouldn’t tell me what the secret is. Hmph.
Polly (pink collar) and Percy (blue), playing with one of the ZILLIONS of track toys.
Snackin’ Time for the Pickles. From the Terrible Pickle moving clockwise, we have: the Terrible Pickle, Polly (pink collar), Percy (blue collar), Joe, Petey.
Could not EVEN be bothered to come down out of the hamper for a kiss. Brat.
Percy, coming down off the cat tree.
How he didn’t flip off backwards, I have no idea. But he balanced like this for a second, then jumped down. He has skillz.
Petey on the left, Polly on the right, Picklepants in the back.
Joe, Petey, and Percy “nursing” on the cat bed, while Polly looks on in disapproval.
Fred thinks that Purslane looks very much like Robert “Son of an immigrant factory worker” Herjavec when he proclaims “For that reason, I’m out.” on Shark Tank. Here’s the face he makes when he says it. I can totally see the resemblance!
Miss Thang and her pink belly.
They get so excited when they grab for that feather teaser!
And the combination of black whiskers and white.
So, Elwood was sitting there eating grass, and Jake and Alice got all excited. Maybe they thought he had ham. In any case, they came RUNNING over to see what was going on.
Then something disturbed them.
They weren’t sure whether they should be frightened.
Then they were all like “Hmph. We ain’t skeered.”

I have a suspicion about Terrible Picklepants, but I am keeping it to myself for now. Also, he reminds me of Beulah. Maybe someone said that already. Also too, you need to mail me the white Weed kitty. Dandelion, I think. I’m in lurve.
I love Tony the Terrible Pickleheaded Elf (pants). He looks so clean and healthy now!! They all do…I can’t believe how beautiful Dandelion is turning out to be! She was such a crusty thing when she arrived. Well done Robyn! I love Purslane’s little worried face. So cute!
BTW…I have a knack for falling in love with boy cats that end up being nothing but TROUBLE, so I would watch out for that Picklehead π
He is actually turning out to be a little lovebug! Last night he climbed up on me and went to sleep while the rest of the Pickles ran around like their butts were on fire!
See…that’s how the boy cats get you (and keep you from wringing their necks). They’re all affectionate and sweet and loving one minute, then knocking over your depression glass sugar bowl and harassing old lady cats the next (that’s Hobbes, my current holy terror). It’s a good thing he’s cute π
I haven’t caught any of my fosters nursing on the cat bed, but let’s just say I’m sporting a couple hickeys from Bentley and Hudson nursing on my neck. Cruz prefers the web of skin between my thumb and forefinger. The girls are too cool to try it.
Kennebec used to nurse on the web between my thumb and forefinger, too – it would crack me up how excited he’d get when he’d realize that THE PERFECT NURSING SPOT was RIGHT THERE.
I think what we’re learning is that boys are needy. π
ALL the kittens are soo cute!
I’m expiring from it!
Terrible Tony still has the ratbat thing going on, but he looks SOLID now! How does he compare weight wise with his siblings? Is he catching up, or just growing steadily at his own pace?
I’ve been trying to determine what makes sweet little Perslane’s face look so worried. I think her markings make her look like she has big sad doll eyes, like a Margaret Keane painting (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-opsHj9K1j_s/TZypNzWYiHI/AAAAAAAACms/96wKBpgOr20/s320/keane_head.jpg) or a Blythe doll (http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Takara-12-Neo-Blythe-Doll-Dark-Blue-Hair-Perfect-Nude-Doll-Factory-/00/s/NjAwWDYwMA==/$T2eC16FHJF8E9nnC6L+4BQQMm,j8Jg~~60_35.JPG)
The expression on Purslane’s face is too precious! Want to some kind of love me that kitten!
Dandelion look like she’s sporting the bat look too, with that translucent armpit action! (http://www.flickr.com/photos/robynanderson/7939483302/)
I didn’t even notice that – you’re right!
The kitties look so healthy and fluffy. You are a Cat Whisperer! Do you play music for them? My semi-feral cat, Moo Moo, used to love listening to “smooth jazz” while eating his dinner. Then i’d let him out for a night of fighting, chasing lady cats and hunting.
I can’t decide whether Crooked Acres is a finishing school for proper young kittens, or a fabulous health spa, but either way, kittens go in looking raggedy and come out looking fat and happy!
It’s amazing what getting regular food and love does for them! π
I usually leave a radio on, low, in the room during the day. Either country music (hey, we’re in the South!) or top-40s.
π
we love Crooked Acres Thursdays, but we can be bought off with kitten pictures. π Love the last Pickle picture – she certainly seems to be disapproving of her brothers. haha
That pic of Joe and Fred is too sweet. I want a kitten whispering in my ear.
I loved that, too. Perfect moment.
It is just too cute! I was all “aawwww!” when I saw it.
TrhP looks like a ‘real kitten’ (think real boy) in that first picture!
Purslane in those last two photos: “You’re going to remove my WHAT?!”
Robyn, what are you doing to Purslane? She always looks so darn worried. Those pale “eyebrows” make her look pleading all the time. Plus, her eyes look perfectly round, like they don’t have “corners” like the others do. It’s hard to explain. She makes me want to pick her up and kiss her.
I totally see it. Her “eyebrows” appear tilted up in the middle, so it gives her a sad/worried/pleading look. She’s going to be one spoiled girl!
I just tell her that if she doesn’t turn up the cute, the daily beatings will resume! π
So do you beat them with feathers or with kisses?
Feathers?! Who would beat a kitten with FEATHERS? They have to KNOW they’re being beaten, so many many kisses is how I prefer to beat them. Also, since I usually carry my lips around with me all the time, they’re conveniently handy when the beatings need to commence. π
I read almost daily but don’t comment often. But I wanted to tell you that I’ve shown my husband two photos of your foster kitties that I told him I wanted to adopt ~ one of Russet and one of Dandelion. He nixed Russet but loved Dandelion! He said I can fly out and pick her up, and seeing as he’s been against getting another pet anytime soon, that’s saying a lot. Must be the blue eyes that got to him…maybe to match his and our dog’s (blue-eyed Siberian Husky). Too bad I can’t justify flying out from CA to adopt a kitty ~ even one as gorgeous as Miss Dandy! π
Gotta love a blue-eyed kitty! I swear that if Stinkerbelle didn’t have blue eyes, Fred wouldn’t have pushed so hard to keep her! π
Robert βSon of an immigrant factory workerβ Herjavec! I totally see it!! Purslane “Daughter of an immigrant factory cat” Weeds!
Sweet Dandelion! Who’s been giving her ballet lessons? She’s almost got the starting position of a pirouette down pat! (http://dance.about.com/od/ballet/ss/Pirouette.htm)
Robyn, I think I recognize the second pic in this post on Cute Overload today as one of yours, but they have the attribution wrong… just FYI…

Indeed it is! Thanks for the heads-up, I’m going to go email them right now. π
Love how you used plates with kitty silhouettes on them.
I need to dig those plates out again for more pictures! π
