Throw Back Thursday: Logie
Back in early 2012, we got a pregnant brown tabby who was one of many cats rescued from an abandoned house in Limestone County. That was Emmy, and after we waited forEVER, she finally had a litter of kittens we named after awards (Newbery, Razzie, Logie and Darwin), and called them “The Nominees.”
Logie was black and looked like she was “frosted.” We were all very curious to know whether she’d keep the “frosted” look.
There was one thing we knew for certain: Logie always had PLENTY to say, from the very beginning.
Isn’t that frosted fur amazing?
Especially in front of her ears, and on her cheeks.
As she grew older, the frosting went away, but she never lost her talky ways.
So, you MIGHT be curious to know why I’m talking about Logie today. When Polo’s foster mom – Ramona – dropped him off on Tuesday, I found out that she was the one who had adopted Logie!
Logie is now named Adela, and her nicknames are Dell and Delphi (adorable!) And she’s just as beautiful as you’d expect her to be.
The look on her face is cracking me UP.
Hasn’t lost her talky ways, I see.
Thanks for the pictures, Ramona!

Orlando went home Tuesday night, and things are going great! I think that since Orlando already knew Teresa from spending lots of time with her at Petsmart, it helped to relax him a little. I mean, check out this sweet face.
A boy and his scratcher (and his toys!)
Don’t you love the curious, relaxed pose?
I love seeing him so relaxed in his new home! He’s still shut away from the other animals – and it’s possible that his big sister Pickles objects a little bit to the idea of another kitty in the house – but so far things are going amazingly well.
Thanks for letting me steal and post your pics, Teresa! ๐

Polo is settling in well. He was a bit (okay, a LOT) talkative the first night, because – I am sure – he didn’t know why he was in that room alone. Before I left to run errands yesterday morning, Fred and I installed the screen door at the bottom of the stairs, and let him out of the foster room. He spent the day moving between Fred’s bedroom, and Fred’s office. He is a super snuggly boy and enjoyed hanging out between Fred’s keyboard and monitor.

I’m not sure which I like more about this picture – the defiant look Stefan’s giving Alice as he dares to sharpen his claws, or her disgusted glare that he’s so close to her.
“I shoulda smacked him for being all up in my space.”

You’re welcome Robyn! I know how much folks love following your babies. I’ve just recently become happily hooked – so I enjoy them seeing this sweet, gorgeous boy settling in! He has definitely accepted all 4 of we humans – next steps will continue at a 4-legged pace. We all LOVE this boy (who is trying to push my blackberry out of my hand so I’ll rub him more) – so thrilled I brought him HOME! Thank you Robyn for all the love you gave him (and all your babies)! And having his ‘story’ out here is priceless to me!!
Wonderful TBT, wonderful comment! And I hope that today’s post featuring not one but two of Robyn’s former fosters will inspire other Challenger’s House adopters to be in touch.
Heartily seconded!
Stefan says “Hey. I was a wild cat. I was out there. I’ve got a good thing going on here. Menacing looks will not deter me.”
Wonderful to see an update on pretty Logie/Adela!
So let’s see….Logie is adorable and doing great – YAY!! Orlando moved in like he owned the place – YAY!! And Fred has a new office cat – YAY!! ๐

Love seeing Logie/Adela!! She’s such a pretty girl! And Orlando looks so content!
Sooooo – scratching posts. Do you personally replace the “rope” stuff on them as needed? I’ve got two posts that have perfectly good rope all the way around from top to bottom – except at ONE spot (near the top) on one side where apparently they all stretch to scratch there. I certainly don’t want to replace the whole posts, and don’t NEED to replace the whole rope. What I’m thinking of doing – is unwrapping the whole thing and JUST wrapping the top part where they all scratch with the part that’s never been scratched. I’m mostly asking this of you because you have multiple scratchers, and multiple cats and in most of the pictures I’ve noticed that you don’t seem to have bare spots and I wondered how on earth you manage that?! ๐
I am loving the updates!! Hello Logie/Adela! Do you still whip your tail around, too?
*sigh* I do love updates!
If it’s wrong that I play the Talking Tom videos every single time you post them (no matter which cat’s theme it is), then I don’t wanna be right!! Thanks for always making me smile with your posts Robyn!
How funny that Polo’s foster mom was the one who adopted Logie! Looks like she is doing well. Love seeing updates!
And so glad to see that Orlando is settling in well! He deserves it. ๐
Yay for updates!
And I laughed so hard at last year’s photos. About a week ago I heard an unusual amount of bag rustling coming from the front of the apartment. I got up to rescue whomever had gotten himself in a pickle-by the time I had taken 3 steps, Norbie came belting down the long hallway with a bag strapped to his back and ran face first into my shins-which tore the bag and released him, and gave me a nice little bruise. There were cartoon birdies circling his head for a bit!
I can second that cat/leg collisions can hurt and also have the bruises to prove it! ๐
Better bag-rustling story — gaming friend noticed an unusual amount of rustling from a bag in the front hall and my monsters were all sleeping upstairs. Looks in … /somehow/ a vole had gotten into the house and was hiding out in the plastic bag. Don’t ask me how it made it through getting trapped in a house with three cats (one of whom I know for a fact mouses). It got evicted but that’s the luckiest critter I’ve seen in a month of Sundays.
