Lalo in the Fruittasan, considering a nap.
Yep, the milk bar does occasionally open – though not all that often, and CERTAINLY not for as long as the kittens would like! Kittens from left: Mike, Francesca, Saul & Lalo. (Just after I took this picture, Kim got to her feet and led me to the food dish to let me know she could see the bottom of the dish.)
Lalo and Saul are all “‘Scuse you, lady, we tryin’ to nap here.”
Saul with the crazy eyes and the crazy whiskers and the “What you DOIN’, lady?!”
Kim likes this tunnel much more than the other one I had out. It’s got portholes!
I don’t know what just happened, but Gus is appalled. APPALLED, I SAY.
The girls (Francesca and Nacho) hanging out.
Nacho’s eyes totally match the green on the mat she’s lying on. (I would call that “seafoam.”)
Mike in the hammock, keeping an eye on things.

It must be fall weather out there, because Charlie is spending his days snoozing in the ham-mick at the end of my bed. Are you thinking to yourself “Wow, that boy has grown up!”?
Well this is Charlie (he was Aramis then) in a ham-mick (same size as the one above) almost exactly two years ago.
I’d say he’s grown just a teeny tiny bit!

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
Look look look who’s 9 weeks old! THESE kittens (except, of course, for Mike, who will be 9 weeks on Sunday. For those who missed it/can’t remember: Mike was left behind in a bale of straw by his mama and needed a place to go. He came here and was immediately accepted by Mama Kim Wexler and the kittens. He might be smaller and a bit younger, but he doesn’t let it stop him for one tiny second.)
Mike’s keeping a close eye on his bids.
In case you missed it, Forgotten Felines of Huntsville’s online auction is going on RIGHT NOW. (Forgotten Felines of Huntsville is the local rescue for whom I foster.) It’s going on NOW through Saturday, October 1st at 7 pm (Central time). There are new items added every morning. Check it out here.

Francesca spits at mama not once, but TWICE (I actually missed the first spit when I was making the video.)
When kittens this age spit, it’s not usually an aggressive act (unless it follows hissing and growling), it’s more playful. Sometimes it can express frustration – if a kitten is trying to reach something, they might spit out of annoyance. But you can see here that Francesca is just trying to show off for her Mama (maybe trying to get her attention or saying “I’m coming for you!”)
Line ’em up! Left to right: Lalo, Saul, Nacho, Francesca, Gus and Mike.

Mama Kim Wexler has been playing more and more often recently. The kittens aren’t QUITE sure what to think of this development!
Francesca (left) and Gus. The difference in their eye colors is just amazing! (His eyes tend to photograph as bluer than they are – they’re changing to green, but he still does have a lot of blue.)
Good night innernets. (Gus, Nacho, Saul and Lalo)

Can I ask why you changed Charlies name from Aramis? I think Charlie suits him better btw
He came to us pre-named, and I really felt like Charlie suited him better (mostly because I love the name Charlie, but also because he used to wail outside any closed door, and “Charles, Prince of Wails” made me laugh).
I will say that when I do name kittens, it’s pretty much a “I have this name, I’ll give it to this kitten,” and I don’t usually think about it much beyond that. Sometimes it suits them, and sometimes it doesn’t. I always expect that people will re-name fosters, and honestly – every kitten who comes through our foster room gets a thousand different nicknames, so I would be surprised if they had any idea what their name was to start with.
Handsome Charlie!! The Prince of Wails is now the King of Whales!
(Teasing about his size, of course! ❤️)
He is a BIG boy – I swear he’s the biggest-framed cat we’ve ever had.
My goodness Charlie is a big boy now. He looks a similar size to my sister’s boy cat, Lapis, who is 12 pounds.
We haven’t weighed Charlie in a while, but he was 15 pounds at his 1-year checkup last November! He is a BIG boy.
Did you see the weights on The Dippers the other day? Alfie, Christopher and Franco. Those are some big boys.
Gus has such a funny little mouth, he’s one of the few I can pick out in your photos as I recognise his little wonky mouth and pale pink lipstick!
