Can you believe that Mercury’s Missions are FIVE weeks old already? Here are their progression pictures.
Not a huge change from last week to this week, but their ears are definitely getting bigger. They’re also getting more coordinated – which is NOT to say that they’re coordinated, just a bit less stumbly than they were.
Here’s what they look like when they aren’t dangling from my hand.
Stardust. (Looks like she’s wearing a white fez!)
Now that they are big boys and girls, they’re doing much more…
They love climbing (next time I do a big clean of their room, I’ll bring the little blue cat tree in for them to climb on.)
It’s hard to tell from this picture, but Hubble was a bit floofed up.
Eating with Mama! (I’ve seen most – if not all – of them eating either canned food or kibble.)
And letting Mama have a little – but not too much! – time to herself.
In our last litter, Chip had a tail that he always held so high and proud that it nearly brushed his head. Kami referred to it as his “happy tail,” which is the perfect description.
In this litter, Hubble appears to be in possession of a happy tail.

Videos! In the first one, pro fisherkitten Phoenix drags her fish across the floor.
And in the second, one of the tabbies (I think it’s Telstar, but I can’t swear to it) nearly goes swimming. The look on his face as he looks at the water before he walks off cracks me UP.

Dennis’s reaction when I suggested he come down from there so I could kiss him. “Don’t believe so, lady.”

They are all just so cute. Hubble looks like he has some boogers that need picking out (ha). Telstar is just gorgeous! That fish is just about as big as Phoenix! And in the video “Kitten Goes Splash”, notice how offended he looked. How dare that water bowl be there and get on his wee paw!!!
I know, his face when he looked at the water bowl cracked me UP!
Oh that Stardust….I fell in love with her from her grumpy pants first baby photo…If only I loved closer
hey – they are beginning to look like real cats now
It happens so fast!
Lol, I think that picture of Stardust and her little fez is now going on my desktop!
Oh, those little faces…I just love this litter! In both of her pictures above, Stardust looks as though she just saw her parents kissing.
Haha – yes she does!
Lol, and so does Dennis! Except he looks more like a disapproving teenager.
(Dammit Brigitte, get back to work…)
Hey Robyn, I was reading some of the previous posts (yes, I read previous posts at work when I probably should be working, and?) and I’m drawing on a blank 2011’s entry about Buster. What happened with the lad, was he adopted?
Long story short – I was intending to make him a permanent resident (I certainly did LOVE that boy!), but we had a real problem with him picking on Spanky, who was pretty old by then. We ended up giving him up; he went to Petsmart, and was adopted on Christmas Eve by a teenage girl! I wish I’d get an update on him, because I’d love to know how he’s doing – I like to think that he’s living a spoiled rotten life. 🙂 The whole story is in this post.
Oh, that’s right, I remember now. I completely understand; I would have done the same thing had I been faced with a similar situation if Atticus, as a super-senior cat, were being picked on by one of his brothers (I’m smiling as I say that because both of his brothers, and his sister as well, were so laid back they wouldn’t even have gone after a mouse if you’d dangled it in front of them. Not to mention Atticus would have bitch-slapped the snot out of them had they tried.).
Okay, I have TRIED not to bring this up, but it bugs me every time I see a picture of “Hubble” and “Telstar”. I understand that “Hubble” was originally mistakenly identified as female (Aurora), so it was necessary to change his name. But why didn’t you just swap names between the original Telstar and Aurora? Why did you go three-way and rename the original Hubble to Telstar, the original Aurora to Hubble, and the original Telstar to Aurora? I think I have that right, and it’s been bugging me ever since it happened. :/
Because we thought Hubble looked more like a Hubble than a Telstar. 🙂
Huh. I did not expect that simple of an explanation. LOL!
I should have asked sooner!
And Teresa just reminded me – she thought that, because of the lightning bolt on his back, Hubble should have been Hubble all along, but since he was initially believed to be a girl (THANKS, Fred!), we couldn’t use that name for him, since Hubble sounds like a boy’s name.
Hubble does look like a Hubble! LOL
I love the squinty, Yoda eared 2 week old pics…so funny.Of course they are totally adorable at every age.
Oh, they are kit-CATS now! We just love, love, LOVe your progression photos.
Looks like Phoenix is getting the hang of “ears of annoyance” in the last pic.
