Yesterday morning, I thought for sure Jeff was going to come stomping out of the crate.
Tina went into the crate and distracted him with the milk bar.
The kittens settled down for a nap.
Jeff was checking with Richie. “We nappin’, right?”
So I turned the crate so that it was against the wall, and I zipped open the side (which I’ve mentioned has a lower side. If the kittens came out of the crate, I didn’t want them to have to struggle to get back in.) And the kittens kept sleeping.
Tina went off to sharpen her claws.
I walked back in about an hour later to see Jeff stomping right on out of the crate and Tina scolding him LOUDLY. I thought she was going to pick him up and carry him into the crate, but she ultimately let him stay out.
“Is this all there is?” he wondered.
“Oh, I’m not going out there,” said Carmy.
Tina went into the crate and called to Jeff, and he went right back in. He’s a sucker for the milk bar.
Sydney, settling down for another nap.
For the rest of the day (though I have no photographic proof), they all came out of the crate. They’d come out, look around, and then go back in. I’m sure as the days go by, they’ll spend more time out exploring, but for now they’re still on the young side, so I’m glad to see them having a little more crate time.

We had a couple of cool days over the weekend, and Khal approved, magnificently.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
This Tina loaf (my favorite!) looks so very earnest and it just makes me want to kiss her 1,000 times.
If, like me, you thought Carmy (or possibly Sydney) was going to be the first one out of the crate, we were all wrong. It’s Jeff who was the first escapee! Tina was having a FIT, but she convinced him to come back into the crate.

In case you missed it earlier, Jeff was the first one out of the crate (that’s what I get for thinking it would be Carmy or Sydney!), and Tina is… not thrilled (but also a little bit hangry.)
Carmy’s being pottied and his thousand yard stare just cracks me UP.

Tina is a mighty, mighty huntress. (I suspect I picked up that teaser at Petsmart, but can’t swear to it.)
Good night innernets. (From left: Sydney, Richie, Carmy & Jeff)

Carly’s ears have really moved!
Darn it, got auto corrected. I did type CARMY.
Auto correct is so HELPFUL, isn’t it? 🙂
I suddenly realized that the timbre of sweet Tina’s prolonged squawk about Jeff leaving the crate reminded me of the (obnoxious) woman in this local TV commercial! Hoping the link works better here. Could not get it to link automatically in the Instagram comments, but copy and paste if you have to – it’s worth the laugh! https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1116852878675216
That is hilarious – and accurate!
