Weekly Instagram/Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr Roundup.
“LOOK, innernets, I got these cool needles on the ends of my toeses!” (Constance)
Rochefort in (near) the sun and Athos back there ignoring me.

I was trying and trying to get Planchet to dive into that basket of toys, but he just wasn’t going for it. Hmph.
“Am hanging out in my Fruitasan, lady. You gots a problem with that?” Not at all, d’Artagnan. As you were.

Your Daily BOOP, featuring Athos.
Porthos is showing off his pearly white (very sharp teeth) and those pretty, pretty eyes. (That is a blanket he’s lying on, not my legs. I do not, as of yet, have cat tattoos on my legs, but give me time.)
Good night innernets. (Winter)
Constance and Porthos, post-breakfast. Constance is all “Ha ha, you can’t reach me here to clean off my face!” Have I got news for her…
Look who it is! There’s Clyde and Jasmine (formerly known as Cutey). Jodi reported that she’s noticed when Clyde is tired, he is DONE (you can see it in his face), but Jasmine is a lighter sleeper. Also, Jasmine kisses everyone because she’s a little lovebug. They’re doing great, had some new (human) friends to play with the other day, and have discovered that they’re BIG fans of the laser light. (Thanks, Jodi!)

Your Daily Boop, featuring Constance. Constance is now officially OVER the 1-pound mark and I couldn’t be happier. (At just under 7 weeks old, I’d expect her to be more like 1.75 pounds – but she’s happy, healthy and gaining – and as anyone who has ever adopted one of our kittens knows, we don’t grow ’em small here.)
A close-up of Porthos’s eyes. Just a bit of blue left around the edges. (Porthos is 2 months old (as of yesterday) or if you prefer it in weeks, he’s 9 weeks old tomorrow.)

Planchet & Winter playing. I love to watch these two play (okay, I love to watch them ALL play!)
Athos in the Fruitasan, clearly needing a kiss. Oh, if I MUST.
Good night innernets. (Aramis)
Paws up, y’all! (And please admire Rochefort’s toebeans here on this Toesday.)
D’Artagnan’s the head snoopervisor.

BOOPing d’Artagnan, who will neither confirm nor deny his Da BAYbee status.
Did we mention “Paws up, y’all” and that it’s Toesday? Get a look at Porthos’s toebeans. CUTE.

Aramis, keeping Constance clean. It’s a big job, but I think he can get it done!
Aramis and Planchet discovered the big Cuties box and are wondering why it’s up here and not on the floor. (I moved it to the floor.. eventually.)
Athos has a case of the sleepies. (Good night innernets.)
Breakfast! (I was briefly excited that I’d gotten all 8 kittens at the plate, but then I counted and realized Rochefort was too busy playing to come eat.) Clockwise from orange Athos (at 12:00), we have: Athos, Winter, Planchet, Porthos, Aramis, Constance and d’Artagnan.
Porthos makes me want to squoosh him. He is so CUTE.

Your Daily BOOP, featuring Porthos. He is such a pretty boy, isn’t he?
Winter finds the ToastyCat bed an excellent place to hang out and swipe at the other kittens as they run by.

Play time in the kitten room. They certainly do entertain themselves!
“Don’t look, Ethel!” (Athos, d’Artagnan, and Aramis there in the back.)
Rochefort’s got Athos pinned and he’s going for the snuggle.
Good night innernets. (Constance)
The Exploratory Committee is on the move. (d’Artagnan, Winter and Porthos)
For Throw Back Thursdays I’m going to share pictures and brief recaps of all the fosters we’ve had (probably a couple of litters each Thursday). Just because!
Our very first foster litter was Mia and her kittens – Snoopy (he’s the one flopped over her), Flossie (the black and white kitten giving the camera the eye), Oy and Edgar (nearly identical black and white tuxies), and Peanut (the brown stripey one back there.) They were named before we started using themes to name litters.
They came to us in May 2005 when the kittens were… well, I don’t know how old they were. None of my blog entries from back then mention how old they were, but by their appearance and behavior, I’m going to say they were probably about 4 weeks old or thereabouts.
Unfortunately, Mia got very sick (I don’t know exactly from what, though there was conjecture that she’d gotten into some kind of poison at the junk yard where she lived before she and the kittens came to us – whatever it was, it didn’t affect the kittens) and passed away on July 5th of that year.
Her kittens were with us a little while longer, and then went to Petsmart where they were adopted out.
(And I remain amazed that after going through losing Mia like that, and as hard as it was to say goodbye to her kittens and leave them at Petsmart, we continued to foster.)

For the next however-long-it-takes, for Throw Back Thursdays I’m going to share pictures and brief recaps of all the fosters we’ve had (probably two litters per Thursday.)
In August 2005, about three weeks after Mia’s kittens went off to Petsmart, we took floofy gray tabby girl Jodie and gray boy Rambo. They looked like siblings and were about the same age, but weren’t related. (You’re going to ask me what their stories were and where they came from, and I am all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ because I was very new to fostering and never thought to ask what their backstory was.) They were with us a little more than a month, and ohhh did I like those two little goobers, but one of the things I promised when we started fostering is that I wouldn’t ask to keep every kitten we fostered, and so they went off to Petsmart in mid-September and were adopted (together!) shortly thereafter.

D’Artagnan on the cabinet, trying to figure out what he’s doing. That boy cracks me up. (After this I moved the cat trees so they’re right by the cabinet, so the kittens can use them to get down if they want to.)
Aramis always looks so serious, but he is SUCH a little lovebug. One day I’m going to squoosh him, I swear I am.
Good night innernets. (Rochefort)
All 8 at (or near) the plate! Clockwise from orange Athos, we have: Athos, Winter, Porthos, Aramis, Planchet, d’Artagnan, Rochefort and Constance.
Porthos saved a little breakfast for later. Maybe he needs Constance to give HIM a bath for once.

Winter was talking and talking to me, so I started making a video, and OF COURSE she didn’t have a thing to say. Always happens (but look how PRETTY.)
Constance is all “HI INNERNETS LOOK I GOTS TOES!” and Rochefort is “?????”

Laundry day is a WHOLE LOTTA FUN.
Rochefort has discovered that Winter’s favorite spot is kinda neat, so now he snoozes there too. Winter doesn’t mind… much.
Porthos and d’Artagnan think they’ll sleep in this morning, if y’don’t mind.
We’re down to FIFTEEN MINUTES before the beginning of the auction! Rochefort’s been saving his pennies and he’s keeping an eye on the time. Good luck outbidding this little muffin!
Back in September 2018, we got mama kitty Ryder and her 9 – I SAID 9! – kittens. Among them were dilute tortie girl Dynamo and orange and white tabby boy Axle. Dynamo is now Piper and Axle is Axel and while they weren’t adopted together, I do have pictures of each of them and here’s a post to say – happy 2nd birthday, babies!
Piper is a total Daddy’s girl, will floof up in an instant, and has the most amazing tail (I mean, look at that thing!) And she is just the happiest girl ever. Happy birthday, Piper!
Axel is the quintessential laid-back orange tabby (I always say orange tabbies are the surfer dudes of the cat world.) He’s working hard on relaxing, loves his Mama, dryer balls, and he’s just a big ol’ snugglebug. Happy birthday, Axel!
(If you adopted one of Ryder’s other kittens, we would love an update!)

Aramis, trying to decide whether to join Constance in the pie plate.
“This is MINE TEDDY,” says Rochefort. “MINE.”

The two most important questions in fostering: are you Da BAYbee?, and What’s that on your head?
Cutie Aramis in the Cuties box. Truth in advertising!
Winter at attention. (She is so CUTE.)

In the BOOPing d’Artagnan video, it very much looks like he’s got a white heart on his chest. It’s not perfectly formed (especially if he has that paw raised), but it definitely looks like a heart! 😀
One of the most fascinating weekly tales!
Look at how long Athos’ legs are!!!!
All right, I lol’ed at the end of that last video. That was some funny right there.
