In case you missed it on Facebook/Instagram yesterday, Jacques and Francois were returned on Friday. (I know we all want to hike up our judgey pants on this topic, but let’s not, okay? It was a very difficult decision for the adopter, and she was very sad to bring them back. So let’s be kind.)
You might be surprised (NOT) to hear that Francois is still Da BAYbee and he doesn’t mind talking about it.
Friday night we settled the boys in the guest bedroom and shut the door. Katriane, who took this as a personal offense, waited until I was about to walk into the room, and then she SHOT through the door.
“I WANNA SEE WHAT’S GOING ON IN HERE!” she declared.
She looked at Jacques. She looked at Francois. She looked at me.
“What’s the big deal?” she asked.
Saturday morning, we let the boys out of the guest bedroom. They eventually made their way into the foster room, and…? No reaction at all from Margeaux. No reaction from the little kittens. As far as everyone was concerned, those boys had just stepped into the other room for a minute and were back. ZERO reaction. The only time I’ve seen any floofing at all is when Jacques went gallumphing across the room to grab a toy, and startled Fleur (who is prone to floofing anyway.)
Margeaux’s having a good time roughhousing with them, the boys are having a good time roaming the rest of the upstairs, but tend to spend the majority of their time in the foster room. They play with the little kittens, and the little kittens have started snuggling up to them. I put Jacques and Francois in the guest bedroom at night and then Fred lets them out first thing in the morning. So far, so good!
Couldn’t you just squeeze him?
Francois coming into the foster room, greeted by Beauregard.
Beauregard looks especially tiny here.
Jacques is absolutely crazypants about that trackball toy.
Impressed by Fleur’s climbing skills.
Jacques is an excellent BrotherUncleCousinFriend.
The look of adoration on Luc’s face as he looks at Francois is killing me dead.
“What doin’, lady? Still weird, I see.” (Francois and Henri.)
Gabrielle and Francois have a snuggle.
So Jacques and Francois will stay here with us for the time being; they’re certainly no trouble. If you’re interested in adopting these two boys (they’ve got to be adopted together – we won’t split them up, they’re BFFs), you can email Forgotten Felines of Huntsville at info (at) ffhsv.org

Newt does love his catnip. (This picture must be from several months ago – that catnip plant is NOT happy these days. This was a brutal summer, and the catnip is half dead. Hopefully it’ll rebound once the weather cools down a tiny bit.)

Da BAYbe is back! I believe you had an opening for one since none of the younger ones have chosen to fill that void. So glad to see Francois again. He’s such a handsome boy! Sorry it didn’t work out but being a long time cat owner, it happens. No judging necessary.
Aw, sweet babies! I’m sure they will be fine Uncles to the smaller babies.
Speaking of which…my favourite question to ask…has there been any interaction with the Permanent Resident Uncles/Aunts yet?!
No judging @ all, especially as their home is SO welcoming! Glad to see DaBaybee! Such good uncles! All precious kittens! Best of love….
You know, it happens for a reason. Better now as cattens than 2 yrs or more down the line. They will be snatched up fast and be in their forever home. I love that they fit right back in and play with the wee ones. Much love and best wishes to all.
Francois and Henri look so much alike in that picture!
If they had to come back, better now than much later. Sure doesn’t look like they are phased much. Love seeing them with the little ones!
No judgement here. I had to give up a cat in an emergency move once (he was a Bengal and we found a breed rescue that took him) and it was heartbreaking. The boys look great!
Yes, and we drove from Louisiana to Florida to settle him in at the rescue — and then a couple days later he was adopted by someone who lived not 50 miles from us! I know how hard it was to give him up. I had let a beloved kitty, a Siamese, stay with my ex once, and it was awful. No judging here either. They’re such lovely boys! If only my husband wasn’t allergic! I’d be on my way to North Alabama!
Can I see Katriane, Francois & Henri side by side pretty, pretty please! The internets need this 🙂
That picture of Katriane glaring at you is so hilarious! It’s as if she’s saying, “I thought we got rid of these little brats for good!”
Francois’ face while he’s looking at katrina is killing me
