Natalie is a total couch potato.
And she doesn’t care who knows it.
Though sometimes she’ll flop down for a snooze on the floor, too.
“Stop lookin’ at my belly, lady.”
So, I guess this weekend wasn’t the time for her kittens. To be honest, I won’t be surprised if she goes another week before she has them – she is definitely bigger, but she just doesn’t have that “I’m over this” miserable look they tend to get toward the end. Her appetite is good, she’s still eating well (sometimes before they go into labor, their appetite drops off; sometimes it does NOT). She’s not nesting, she goes into the crate every couple of days and sits there and looks around before she wanders back out (but I’ve also had mamas who completely ignored the crate until they were actively in labor.) She’s sleeping a lot (like cats do), she’s eating and drinking and using the litter box and excited about her Churu, so. Who knows? Maybe next weekend? Maybe tomorrow? Maybe she’s in labor right now? (I looked; she’s not in labor right now.) We shall see!

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) this weekend.
“Peasant, it is time for the Churu.” Yes, Queen Natalie!
Following up on the post from a couple of days ago, here’s Sam Elliot (left, formerly Ciabatta) and Luci (Babka). In the dog days of summer, they’ve gotta keep cool however they can! 🥵
(Thanks, Sarah!)

People have asked to see the cat fence, so I made this WAY TOO LONG video that starts with Khal and Charlie, continues over to the watermelon, and ends up at the cat fence. (We got our cat fence from Purrfect Fence. The cats are allowed in the back yard from dawn to dusk.)
Natalie’s just hanging out with the track toys, apparently.

I finally got Natalie to play a little bit! Turns out she does kinda like ping pong balls.
Good night innernets. (Natalie)
Good morning sunshine. ☀️ (Natalie)
Another day, another crown for Natalie. I think the sparkly tiara from yesterday suits her better. 👑

This girl just kneads all the live-long day.
Did you know that the online auction at the Forgotten Felines HSV Auction Page is going on RIGHT NOW? True story – while her babies are baking, Natalie’s going to keep an eye on her bids. Go check it out!
All proceeds benefit Forgotten Felines of Huntsville, the rescue I foster for!
Good night innernets. (Natalie)
Those EYES. (I offered her that duck toy, and she was not interested, thank you.)

Watching Natalie’s belly. Not a TON of movement in this video, but there’s definitely some!

Natalie seems to be one of the smiley-est cats! She looks so happy, it makes me happy to see her smiling. You are such a great foster mom to make her so happy! (So says this anthropomorphizing cat lover!)
Natalie really is a special girl. There’s not a single photo of her that doesn’t make me feel like kissing her head. I’m so glad she’s getting all this time to be spoiled before the kittens arrive.
Natalie has one of the most compassionate faces I’ve seen on a cat. It’s just beyond beautiful.
I can’t find it now, but I seem to recall someone asking recently about pics of mama cats carrying kittens, and Robyn responding that she didn’t think she’d ever taken any. Well! If you click on the link in today’s “Previously” section for the entry in 2017, the second picture down from the top is mama Mercury carrying one of her then-2-day-old litter back into the crate after Robyn had taken them out briefly (but apparently not briefly enough for Mercury, LOL) for a weigh-in. Enjoy!
That picture of Natalie and her laptop is adorable! She really looks like she is concentrating.
