Cuties! Speaking of which, if y’all haven’t met or just want to reminisce, Stompers makes his appearance back in 2012. HE was one character!
and
And then in 2013 we met Stefan…who is half feral… HAHAHAHAHA!
Feral Stefan! I forgot that it took him time to warm up to me. I like how we were going to add him to our outdoor cat population. Now you can’t get him off the couch with a crowbar.

The fancy sofa has fancy pillows! Have those always been there?
They certainly have – they’re attached, and sometimes when I walk into the room, they’ve managed to flip the center one backward.
Here’s a shot of Ponyboy last September, modeling the Fancy Sofa for us. He was a sweet boy, though, and left the pillows as God (or I guess I should say Andrea!) intended.

When do they get sent off to the doc to get spayed and neutered? I assume the 2 will head off to Petsmart soon. Mama too? The batch in waiting will be with you such a short time.
Andouille and Beignet are headed out of here on June 19th; Kay and Bill are going to foster-to-adopt them. Then Roux and Praline should be ready for spaying another week or so after that – then it’ll be a matter of space being available for them at Petsmart.
I really wish I had a second foster room!

Question: While looking at Roux and Praline and not being able to reliably tell them apart, I was wondering-can kittens be truly identical twins like humans can? I’m thinking they can because I would think all mammals could, but have you ever seen that or has it happened to you?
I’m sure it must happen – I haven’t had any kittens that I absolutely couldn’t tell apart after a little while, that didn’t have some small physical differences, but I’m sure there are identical kittens out there!

Just to be clear, how will losing his teeth help his mouth? Is this like removing the source of irritation or infection?
afterwards, will his gums/roof of his mouth still be red and sore? Feel like sending baby food or ice cream to cool down the red tissue.
Yes, I believe it’s removing the source of irritation, and once the teeth are removed, his gums and the roof of his mouth should heal. Right now, you better believe that Frankie is getting lots of baby food and lots of pureed canned cat food with goat milk added in, but no ice cream. Don’t give him any ideas!

Hi there – Laurie over at the IBKC posted this several year old vid of her fosters. I think these match your current crew for bounces, leaps, skitterbugging, etc. 4 minutes of fun.
How utterly adorable is that! Laurie has some real cutie pies over there right now; if y’all don’t read her blog, you oughta!

Beignet yawned so hard one of her floofy ears popped right off her head.
Pretty girl. (And Praline climbing up the side is cracking me UP.)
Beignet making like a lap kitty.
And cleaning the end of her tail.
Praline’s all “Lady, I know you is gonna clean that little wad of goop out of my eye, and I don’t WANT you to!”
Doesn’t she look much better with a goop-free eye?
And sitting in the Tiny Basket?

Video! Praline’s got a mouse and it’s giving her The Crazies. I mean, not that she didn’t already have a raging case of that before the mouse came along.

Is that Dennis not the MOST beautiful boy you’ve ever seen?

Praline looks exactly like my 2 cats when a mouse comes in through the mouse hole in my closet. Yes, they do really exist. I try to recue the mice but sometimes they play with it to death. Such silly kitties.
PS I really need to fix the hole before fall.
But but what will the cats play with if you plug the hole?! 🙂
Roux makes us laugh….she looks like she got her MBA in snark
Dr. Snark! 😉
ah, back when you used to show pictures of the other animals and chickens and the garden. I swear, you have killed off Fred, it’s been so long since anyone has heard from him. I do love this latest batch of kittens!
That is cuz he done ticked her off and he is now IN the garden! Bwaahhhh…. (Stop it…ya’ll know I am just kidding!)
I’d never bury him in the garden when there’s a perfectly good catfish pond!
Kittens are one of God’s most perfect and adorably made creatures! Sigh….
Unfortunately fur us, they know this.
I’ve been a bad blog follower.
How can you have a litter of kittens you describe as “the cajuns” without me introducing you to the term “sha?!?”
It’s a Cajun term, derived from the French “cher.” It’s used as a term of endearment, like “dear” or “buddy,” (“you want to get some gumbo, sha?”), or a bit of an exclamation, especially when you see something cute (“Oh, sha! Will you look at those kittens!”). In the latter sense, there is even the term “sha baby.”
Urban dictionary has the easiest link to the term:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Sha
My apologies for not bringing this to your attention sooner. Just know that frequently, when talking to her kittens, Nola is really saying, “Meow, sha.”
