I know you guys remember Baby Beans – though of course I’m happy to provide a picture as reference:
He was adopted in March, and that story is at the top of the post, here.
In the comments yesterday Nichole posted some links to pictures!
Just wanted to follow up with Baby Bean and Ashford (formerly Sootie)
Bean has settled in very nicely with Ashford and here’s some shots I’ve taken over the last few months.
Bean likes the water I keep on the nightstand.
Completely innocent!! Until caught…
Thank you so much for the update, Nichole! And give those sweet boys kisses from all of us.

The Royals got off to Petsmart just fine, no problems. They were amazingly calm once I put them in the cage – no one went into the litter box to hide, and no one was too freaked out. Aslan seemed the most nervous, but even he was way calmer than some of the kittens I’ve taken to Petsmart in the past.
I took the carriers back out to the car and then went back into the store to do a little shopping. By the time I got back to the cat room to see how they were doing, someone was already in there holding Charming, who was just like “What up, y’all?” That boy is such a laid-back cuddlebug.
No one was adopted last night, but I have hopes that at least a couple go home today!
“They just wasn’t the right people, lady. It takes special people to properly appreciate my charms.”
“Will there be stinky slippers at Petsmart? I’m going to miss the stinky slippers.”
“I wasn’t nervous. I was just being RESERVED.”
The girls, taking in some sun on my bed yesterday morning.
“Try focusing, lady. It makes a world of difference.”
A couple of videos! First, Aslan lurves his Uncle Jake (and Uncle Jake is very very smug about that.)
And secondly, Jareth is a wild thing, and Aslan loves to complain.

“You not gonna miss THOSE kittens, lady. You gots plenty of kittens in here!”
The smallest and the biggest Dragons, side by side.
I was going to say that there isn’t that much difference in their sizes, but then I went and looked at the weight chart (bottom of this page), and yeah. Scorch actually weighs half a pound more than Ember, so there IS kind of a big difference. It doesn’t stop her from picking fights with him, though. She ain’t skeered!
(“Lunk” would be a good kitten name.)
Norbert loves to hang out on this scratcher and swipe at Khaleesi when she goes by.
Khaleesi, ever the mama, has to check for cleanliness. (Puff, over on the ess scratcher is cracking me up.)
“NO! Don’t go through the tunnel, bro. It’s not safe!”
Do I kiss this little face a zillion times a day? You KNOW I do.
That poor baby sock monkey. He sure does take a lot of abuse!
The Dragons felt particularly heavy to me yesterday, all of a sudden, so I broke out the scale. We’ve got our first Dragon – Scorch – who’s over the two pound mark. Ember’s the smallest, at just over 1 1/2 pounds, but I don’t think it’s going to be too much longer before they’re all over two pounds. (By the time Ember crosses that mark, Scorch might be three pounds, at the rate he’s going!)
I have a Dragons video. They’re 7 weeks old, and wild little things! Well, the boys are – Ember just sat and watched, and Ruth was off somewhere else doing her own thing (you can hear Khaleesi talking to me.)

Yeah, I assumed y’all knew that we consider Stefan a permanent resident now. I don’t see him becoming an indoor cat, but I also thought the same about Coltrane, and you remember how that went. So for now we’re feeding and caring for him, and keeping an eye on him. That spot on his chest was something he did before he showed up here – the vet didn’t think it was anything to be worried about, that it was in the process of healing. Fred reports that it feels like scar tissue, but in any case it doesn’t seem to bother him at all. It sure does make him look like a beat-up tomcat, doesn’t it?

That Stefan is sure a mancatly one. Super handsome. π
I hope all the Royals get adopted this weekend. Those faces are so cute I don’t know how anyone could resist!
[clicked the like button]
Stefan! He has such a gorgeous face!
Robyn, didn’t you and Fred take to calling one of the orange brothers who took a while to find a family — and then ended up with the ideal one — Lunk? But back to the present: I’m so hoping that all five Royals find their families today. Allez-y, prospective adopters! As for young Bean, a certain Charlene would be sure to tell him he has the best name going and, clearly, an adoring, indulgent mother and very handsome sib!
Love the look on Jake’s face at the end of the video!
I am in love with Ember. Such a pretty little kitten.
Good luck to the Royals! I’m sure they will not be long in finding their forever homes.
Does Khaleesi make the comforting mama trill at her kittens?
I misread a key word in “Puff, over on the ess scratcher is cracking me up” as having a different vowel, and was AMAZED at the things you find/buy for your kittens. I didn’t doubt it for a minute, I just wondered whether it was something you’d done a specific search for or something you’d stumbled upon.
(Were you to ask my cats about such a specific scratcher, two of them would say, “Why would we need one? She reads every night before she goes to sleep, and we just use a corner of the book.”)
Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!
Okay, it took me a while to figure out which vowel to change out. Now that it makes perfect sense, I cannot stop giggling. (And yes, they should market one of those to protect our books and our laptop screens)
LOL
Also, Stefan with his battle scars looks like a kinder, gentler Greebo.
It’s one of my favorite anecdotes* of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld that, following publication of either Witches Abroad or Maskerade, Greebo – or more specifically Greebo-after-being-magically-transformed-into-a-somewhat-Greeboesque-human-man – became the first of the Discworld characters to acquire his own personal fan club.
At the first North American Discworld convention, the teenaged son of one of the con organizers dressed as Greebo (in human form). During a costume contest, iirc, the young man performed a very looselimbed stroll to the center of the stage, assumed more or less this pose, paused, and said, “Mrrow.” He got a standing ovation.
Anyway, Stefan looks like he has all the swagger and heat of Greebo combined to perfection with a sensitive “hey, girl” undercurrent. Perfection. Plus, I bet he knows all the latest nightclubs lol.
*Apparently not that much of a favorite if I can’t remember which book it was! derp
As a collective litter, I have to say the Royals have been my absolute favorites. Which is saying a lot. I know this, because it’s all I can do to keep from throwing the kid in the car and driving the hundreds of miles to your local Petsmart so I can scoop up Jareth and Leia. His ‘tude! Her floof! I am going to miss them SO MUCH. π
I would like you to have a litter of kittens called Lunk, Galoot, Dweeb and Twerp. That would be just super.
Yes, please!
I missed Stefan–when did he arrive? Good luck to the Royals!
I love the picture of Bean and Ashford asleep in front of the windows π
Baby Beans was an adorable baby, but what a gorgeous man-cat he is now! I loooove those big, round eyes.
Baby Royals, you behave at Petsmart! You’ll find your forever homes in no time. I’m gonna miss your fuzzy monkey faces!
Anyone who follows Fred on Facebook knows darn well that Stefan is permanent. Fred is quite smitten with him… as well he should be!
And I absolutely LOVE the framed photo of Bean drinking out of the water glass next to live Bean drinking out of the water glass. Please do not tell me if that’s photoshopped. It would break my heart.
I think the photography should continue, and in another year or so, Beans’ owner should post a photo within a photo within a photo within a photo within… I’m only torn whether she could title the end result “Beanception” or “Drinkception.”
I too love the bean water glass photo. not only because it is so darn cute, but because she took the pict and framed it, and then took another one.
I agree with Elayne’s thought of drinception π
Something about Stefan says Superstud.
