For our Chewy product review this month, we decided to give the Solid Gold canned cat food a try. We received the SeaBream & Tuna Recipe in Gravy flavor.
I barely got the food on the plate before Dennis was all up in my space, nomming. This is a little unusual for him, because lately he can take or leave the morning snack – he is just not a food-driven boy.
Kara, who IS food-driven and will clean a plate faster than any other permanent resident except Archie, bellied up immediately, too.
Jake can be picky, but he dove right into this stuff.
Archie, nomming. I love that Dennis is in the background, trolling around for more food ’cause he’s already finished his plate.
“Why, that is RIGHT TASTY!” says Stefan.
This picture is from the second day I gave them the food. Very often, they’ll eat a new kind of canned food one day, and then will turn their noses up at it on the second day. Not this stuff -it was as popular the second day as it was the first!
Dennis, licking up the few pieces of food that Kara left behind, while she fumes in the background.
So then, I took a plate of the food up to Regina and the kittens to see what they thought (I took these pictures back on May 8th & 9th).
Princess Consuela and Bert Macklin had their judgey pants on.
Regina, Art, and Susie bellied up, and then Princess Consuela came over to see what was going on.
Then Ken said “Y’all move over!”
Regina and the kittens cleaned off their plate, so seven tails up from them.
It’s pretty unusual to find a food that all the permanent residents will eat, so I’m going to add this into the rotation.
As always, the food is provided to us free of charge, and the opinions are the cats’, as translated by me. Thanks to Chewy and Solid Gold for letting us give it a try!

I know! I was going to say the same thing, lol.
Man, I gotta check to see if it’s available in Canada; it’s not often your guys, and the fosters, give a food so many tails up!
Wow-what a win for all! I also am surprised that EVERYONE liked it. I am going to check out if they have some pate versions. My Oreo is very picky and ONLY likes pate versions of things and fish doesn’t always agree with her but she LURVES liver.
And what did Newt have to say?
it is nice when you find a food they all like
