In case you missed it on Saturday, there was another post about Dennis, who – have you heard? – needs a home!

Today marks 9 years since I wrote about our very first fosters, Mia and her kittens! Click on the 2005 link when you get to the bottom of the page to read about them.

I swear, my hands have never been smoother. This girl needs to open her own spa!
“Not impressed with you, lady.” I love this picture SO much.
Tricki, watching Livia get all wild on the cat tree.
Livia, watching Dennis go after the feather teaser.
“Bring that teaser down here! I’ll give it a good slap for you!”
Yesterday I was FREEZING (it got cool this weekend, after a week in the mid-80s), and so I went upstairs to huddle under a warm blanket on Fred’s bed, and snuggle with the fosters. Tricki jumped up on the bed and had a slight kerfuffle with Livia. I can’t even blame Livia, because she was sitting there minding her own business and Tricki got all slap-happy. Once that was over, Tricki came over to me, and did this silly flop where she put her head down on the bed and let her mid-section fall to the bed, so that her butt was in the air, then she let her back end slowly fall to the bed. She let me pet her three or four times while she licked my hand, then she stood up and did it all over again. She must have done it ten times, and I was laying there petting her and just cracking up. She is SUCH a goofball!

Congrats on your nine-year anniversary as foster mom! That’s some accomplishment. I know you keep a tally — how many kitties have come through your doors in that time? Must give you such a sense of satisfaction to know that you have made a such a difference in so many little lives. Thank you, thank you for all that you — and Fred — do!
That’s a good question – I’m going to save it for Friday! ๐
I just love fostering so much, and it’s absolutely satisfying to watch sick, struggling little kittens get healthy, grow, and go off to their forever homes!
Nine years? Out of curiosity, how many tails, eyes, toe beans, etc is that?
Seriously though, thank you for caring for these kittens and cats. Also, yea for the spaying and neutering programs!!
Why wait for your tenth anniversary to inveigle us into donating up a storm? Do think about it — and in the interim, happy, happy ninth! You and Fred have changed so many worlds and spread love and happiness (not to mention endless fun and deep cute) near and far.
9 years?? wow…..
That Tricki ๐
I can’t believe I didn’t think of this nickname earlier: Licki Tricki! Has kind of a neat ring to it, don’t you think?
Ha, I’ve been calling her Licky-pants lately. ๐
Nine years of fostering! And nine years of superb-quality blogging about fostering! Wow, congratulations! And let me wish this to both you and all the followers of L&H: many happy returns! I am so glad I was directed to your blog some three years ago from Cute Overload. Since then, I’ve developed a habit of beginning my day for reals by reading another great episode of the Crooked Acres Family (and that means my days begin for reals somewhere around noon – I live in Poland). Thank you for all the love you give to these wonderful cats and kitties, and thank you for sharing your life with all of us, the faithful readers ๐ Love, Joasia
And thank YOU for reading! ๐
