Rufus has not been adopted yet. However, I went by to see him at Petsmart over the weekend, and not only was he NOT hiding in his litter box, he was in fact flopped out on his bed, sound asleep. I went in to see him and pet him, and he just lay there and purred like mad. I snapped a few pictures with my phone.
Somehow, I’d forgotten just how silky smooth his fur is.
Oh, his little face just kills me DEAD.
Don’t give ME that look, young lady. It’s not MY fault they’re such little ruffians!
When we brought Maggie home, I stuffed a pillow in that kitty condo so that Maggie wouldn’t go in there and give birth. Then I left it in there so the babies wouldn’t go in there and pee in it. But being cats, of course they figured out that they can get in there anyway, and they do it often. I’d take the pillow out, but I suspect that that would ruin the fun for them.
Macushla in my lap. All the McMaos are snuggly, but he’s particularly so.
Fergus Simon, sneaking up on his brothers. “Be vewwy vewwy quiet!”
Jake, enjoying the sun if it kills him.
Jake in the guest bedroom, Elwood at the bottom of the stairs.
Jake on the platform in the kitchen. I love his loony little face.

I had to LOL at this, and I think you’re right – there are few things more fun to a feline than getting into something they’re not supposed to!
Especially ON THE KITCHEN COUNTERS TROLLING FOR NOMS!!!
Ok, that’s it, I need to drive to Alabama to adopt Rufus. I am sure the 34 hour round trip would be no problem.
How can anyone resist sweet Rufus? I can’t!
I don’t get it either! He’s such an adorable lovebug!
I am glad to hear Rufus was out of the box. I stopped by there Friday afternoon right after work and he was curled up in the box so I was worried.
Aww Rufy! How long does it take to drive from DC to Alabama? He looks sad.
Robyn, I don’t think you ever gave us the full story on Jake and Elwood (or maybe you did and I just can’t remember!). How did those two ever come to you, anyway? They’re so full of character, I just love them. 😀
Oh Rufus is such a cutie – I am glad that he is doing ok at the PetSmart – hopefully he will be adopted into a great forever home very soon!
And oh, those little babies and just so cute – and their mom is a beautiful girl!
And Jake and Elwood are of course cute as always – I have noticed that you like to mention Jakes looney face a lot – for some reason that just cracks me up each time – I think loony is a natural laugh stimulant word or something.
To think Rufus was such a scardey cat when you first found him! I just have to say again how much I love your blog:)
Aaww – it’s good Rufus is a little more relaxed about the whole adoption adventure. And ‘chomp’ still looks like ‘burp’ to me or even a demure ‘oh my!’ 🙂 In the first ‘hi mama’ photo Maggie’s expression cracks me up – “good lord, will i never get a moment to myself?” and then she turns around and there’s another one “hi mama!!”
