Please keep his family in your hearts as they prepare to say goodbye to former foster Bill (of the True Blood Six), brother to George and Red (formerly Carlin and Skelton).
When we fostered the True Bloods, we had just gotten Jake and Elwood; they were all about the same age, and would play together. I like to think that Jake and Elwood (along with Bill’s brothers Hoyt and Terry) will be waiting to greet Bill, show him the ropes and have all the Churu and zoomies his heart desires.

Sundrop wishes you a happy Thlurrrpsday.
While the kittens were gone yesterday, Sodapop had a peaceful morning.
The kittens came through their spays and neuters just fine. When I got home in the early afternoon, the boys RACED out of their carrier and spent the afternoon racing around with Sodapop, playing like crazy. Poppi was a bit quieter, but by late afternoon she was playing also. Moxie was quietest the longest, but by bedtime she was pretty much back to normal.
Fred reported that after I left with the kittens, Sodapop meowed a few times after we left, played for a while, and then settled down for a nap.
She was happy to see them come back, sniffed them (and the carriers) all over, and the only one who growled was Moxie, who wanted her rambunctious family to leave her alone so she could nap and get to feeling better. Like I said, by bedtime she was back to normal and was playing.

We had a brief cool day, and Rocco took full advantage of one of his two heated beds.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/ Bluesky) yesterday.
The kittens are off for their spay/neuters this morning! Mama Sodapop was spayed weeks ago, so she’ll have a peaceful morning to herself. I expect all to go well, and that we’ll be back home this afternoon, just in time for a long nap!

If you’ve ever wondered what permanent resident Charlie sounds like, here ya go!
Former foster update! Remember Stapler? Of course you do, it’s only been a few weeks since she went home! Well, here she is now. 😻
Kim says: “Just wanted to give you quick update on how Stapler is doing since it’s been a few weeks now. She’s settling in wonderfully! We decided to name her Tui (it’s a New Zealand bird). She’s a very playful and snuggly little bundle, and we love her a ton already. You may be wondering if she is still playing with her Mylar cat toy; well, she sure is! It’s still her favorite thing and she carries it all around the house. We spend a lot of time throwing it for her and waving it around for her. We are taking introductions slowly with the other cats, but so far interactions have been amicable if not quite friendly. I’m sure they will be friends in time.”
(Thanks, Kim!)
Home again, home again! The kittens came through their spays and neuters just fine – Moxie is still a bit wobbly, but it’s hardly noticeable. Sodapop sniffed them all over and licked each of them, so the vet smell hasn’t put her off. (Fred reported that while we were gone, Sodapop meowed a few times, played for a while, then settled down for a nap.)

Permanent resident Khal (nickname: Floomp) was outside hanging out on the back deck, and I wanted to get a slow-motion video of him in all his fabulousness. Mission ACCOMPLISHED, but my favorite part of the video is that with it slowed down, his meows sound like either a cow mooing, or a dinosaur faintly roaring, take your pick. (His usual meow is the most high-pitched baby meow you’ll ever hear.) I’ve watched this video 20 times and laugh every time he meows.
(Note: Our permanent residents are allowed into the back yard during the day. We have a cat fence around the back yard that stops them from leaving the yard. Search on “Purrfect Fence” to see the kind of fence we have. )

Fly high sweet Bill! I will always remember you and your “eye lips”. ❤️
The True Bloods were my introduction to Love & Hisses…. What a precious litter of kittens! Gentle hugs to all who loved Bill.
Condolences to Bill’s family. He will soon slip these painful bonds to fly high and feel fabulous! We need to celebrate his liberation!
Aw Bill, i remember him well. I’ll be thinking of them all, he’s had lovely parents and as good a life that he could have by the looks of it.
Glad to hear the kittens have come through their spay well, and great to see Stapler happy in the new home! Slow-motion Khal cracked me up lol.
The first litter I remember from the blog was the True Blood bunch. Gentle kisses to Bill on his journey and many hugs to his family.
Sending prayers for sweet Bill as he transitions. I remember that litter well — and omg, I’ve been following you a loooooong time.
it never gets easy saying good bye to our fur babies.
Rest and be at peace Bill.
It’s so hard to say goodbye. I’m so, so sorry, I’ve always enjoyed seeing updates from Bill and the other True Bloods. Rest easy Bill… XO
