Clover in the sun, with attitude. (And Bramble, sleeping.)
Hollyhock looks like she’s laughing at her own joke.
Mama’s tail is the best toy everrrr, according to Kudzu.
It’s a Bramble-Mondo pie! My favorite!
Kudzu’s little round belly kills me.
“I was sleepin’ and you woke me up. How very dare you, lady.” Mondo with attitude.
Pretty, pretty, pretty Mimosa.
Hollyhock caught herself a mousie.
Clover and those amazing whiskers.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
Clover checks out his look in the mirror while Mimosa rests up for her next round of yowling. (She’s actually going out of heat, so is much quieter than she was over the weekend. One more week, and she’ll be headed for her spay surgery!)
Yesterday marked 14 years since we had our very first pregnant cat, Kara. (At that time, we were fostering for Challenger’s House.) Unlike SOME mamas we’ve had since, she birthed her kittens a mere 30 hours after she came to us (which of course made us expect that that would be our experience with all mamas – HA.) She gave birth to 4 adorable kittens, and was a wonderful mama to them.
Her kittens were all adopted, and she did eventually go to Petsmart, but we missed her so much that after about a week and a half, we went and adopted her and brought her home. She was our Sheriff – nothing happened that escaped her notice, and while she didn’t really have any use for other cats, she was the sweetest girl ever, and loved us completely. Wednesday marks two years she’s been gone, and we think about that sweet girl often. (You can read more about her here.)

Mimosa is scheduled for her spay surgery on April 25th, so naturally she went into heat late last week. It’s been relatively mild (and she’s already coming out of it), but this is what she was like over the weekend. For comparison at the end, I added video of Ivy (who we fostered in December & January) in heat. Ivy’s yowl was much more sustained and ear-piercing! (For newer followers: Ivy was spayed in January and went to a wonderful home!)
Bramble and Mondo are all “What doin’, weird lady?”

Bramble was in a crazypants mood this morning! Vroom vroom vroom!
Line ’em up! On the big cat tree: Mondo. On the blue cat tree: Kudzu (the low shelf), Bramble (the top), Hollyhock, and Clover (in the hammock.)
Good night innernets. (Hollyhock & Mondo)

Hahaha – 2007 entry title! Yes to that. Also from that entry, the picture with Miz Poo, Tommy, Spot, Mister Boogers, Sugarbutt all looking out the window — AWWW!!! (Robyn, was that Maxi outside?)
Also, and this is quite the revelation – the Sprouts are really awfully CUTE, aren’t they? (In related news: Cats Like Boxes.) Ha.
Yes, that was Maxi outside! That was before we had the fence around the back yard, so the permanent residents couldn’t go outside yet, but Maxi and Newt did whatever they wanted. 🙂
In that photo of Hollyhock and Mondo, Hollyhock’s expression seems to be saying, “Help!”
I’m not sure she was actually fully awake – she was sleeping before I tiptoed over to the picture, and she opened her eyes at the last moment. 🙂
I love when kittens put on their crazypants!
This!
