All lined up – another milk bar drive-by, I assume. (From left: Zelda (front), Myrtle, Jay and Nick)
Myrtle in a rare still moment, considering her options.
They really like that ham-mick.
Hmmm. Was there another milk bar drive-by? This neighborhood is having a rash of those lately.
Myrtle’s ready to start somethin’ with Nick.
Daisy much prefers one-on-one time.
Nick’s hanging out with me, watching the other kittens do their thing.
I think the kittens have abandoned the crate, though I’m not 100% sure. I haven’t seen any of them near the crate in the last day, but I’ll wait a few more days before I take it out of the room. They’ve been sleeping in the bed in front of the couch, on (and in) the ham-mick, and late yesterday they discovered that there’s a space between the side of the couch and the wall that perfectly fits 4 chonky kittens and their mama (luckily I can sit on the couch and look down at them, so it works out pretty well.)

Newt wonders if there’s any truth to the rumor that there’s chicken in the fridge.

Posted on social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr) yesterday.
Myrtle got a bath, but when she tried to nurse, Daisy said “Oh, I don’t think so. I’ve got other kittens to bathe first.”
Today marks 15 years (that’s 2008, if you don’t want to get out your calculator) since we fostered our very first pregnant cat, Kara (aka Sheriff Mama). She went into labor about 24 hours after we got her, which totally spoiled me and made me think that that’s how it would go with pregnant cats always. (HA)
She had 4 kittens – 3 girls (Inara, Kaylee and Zoe), and 1 boy (River) and was a wonderful mama to them. She ended up becoming a permanent resident, and was with us until she passed in February 2020. (We’ve fostered 15 more pregnant cats since, and it’s always an amazing experience.)

Kittens running wild, checking out the room. Mama’s gonna be busy keeping up with where everyone is.
Look who’s napping NOT in the crate! (Actually, I suspect they were nursing, fell asleep, and Daisy wandered off.)

A little exploring, a little bugging Mama, a little bein’ scared by the weird lady who’s sliding across the floor on her belly at you (sorry, Myrtle), and a little climbing. This video’s got it all!
Myrtle and Zelda are figuring out this “climbing” thing. (One day soon I’ll walk into the room to find them all asleep on the couch, I suspect.)

Jay, Nick and Myrtle do some exploring and tussling (I thought Jay and Nick were going to have a wrasslin’ match there for a moment), and Zelda sits in my lap and watches them.
Good night innernets. (Nick and Zelda)

One time awhile back, you said you fed Fancy Feast to your fosters and permanent residents. If you have time, could you be more specific on which ones? There are so many different ones to choose from…Grilled,Gravy Lovers,Classic,Flaked,Medleys,Medleys Primavera,Delights,Savory Centers,Gourmet Naturals,Shredded,Pate and Purely and then so many flavors of all of the different kinds.
Thank you again for all you do and sharing it with us. It’s such a blessing!
Sure, I’ll answer this in tomorrow’s post!
Ahh, the appearance of the cheese wedge scratcher! Good times ahead, woohoo!
